A detained British embassy employee in Tehran is to be put on trial as the supposed orchestrator of the mass protests that followed last month's bitterly disputed Iranian presidential election, despite Britain's insistence that the charges against him are false.
Hossein Rassam, 44, is accused of being the "kingpin" and key strategist behind a purported embassy attempt to foment street demonstrations after the 12 June poll, which resulted in the re-election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. David Miliband, the foreign secretary, has dismissed as "wholly without foundation" the notion of British involvement in the protests that brought hundreds of thousands on to the streets for 10 days after the election.
The accusations against Rassam, the embassy's chief political analyst, are the most specific yet since his arrest on 27 June along with eight other employees, who have since been released.
He was already known to be facing accusations of "acting against national security", a vague catch-all charge often brought against political detainees. Rassam has been denied access to his lawyer, Abolsamad Khorramshahi, who said that he had not even received official rights of attorney over the case yet.
The latest allegations against Rassam, who is being held in Tehran's Evin prison, were leaked to >>>

first of all,
by anonymous fish on Tue Jul 14, 2009 11:38 AM PDTI don't really think I'm your "dear". :-)
Secondly, there was nothing in my comment that even minutely resembled an attack. You'll know it when I attack you. :-) It is my "opinion" that your blog is insulting to the men and women who are actually involved in this movement. And an opinion is not an attack. I called you no name. I said your insinuations are insulting. What you do smacks of empty gesture. You have no recourse or argument, therefore you start with the name games... the defensive posturing... the false claim of attacks. You and so many others here use that as your basis for grandstanding. When you have nothing to say, accuse others of ill intentions. Whatever floats your boat. Given the likes of me? LOL. The difference is that I respect the Iranian people who are fighting for their future. You obviously do not.

Are you saying that Gurdian is writing for IRI, or ... ? I don't think I understand your point. Please go to the site of this article:

I am sorry if the link was broken in the original post. Above should help. Then tell me who is the real "Khar" !
Thanks (Shaboon Bimokh Nabashid)

by Sassan on Tue Jul 14, 2009 01:08 AM PDTHow pathetic are you, for posting this "news" -- which we all know is a fabrication of the IRI, and not the Guardian, which by the way has to report on the plight of Britain's embassy workers. But the real "news" is the bit about British shananigans in the turmoil in Iran. You know very well that the mullahs created this storm all on their own -- YOU MUST KNOW THAT, or I'm afraid you are what we all think you are (and you know what that is, wink-wink, the word stooge comes to mind, as in a Hezbollahi stooge).
And lastly, the great majority of those village idiots who overthrew the Shahanshah Aryamehr regret their hugely idiotic and youthtul stupidity in removing a decent king in exchange for a barbaric band of thieves and murderers called the IRI, the likes of which Iran has not known since the first Arab invasion.
A painful death to the IRI and all of its agents and supporters!

by wgm1919 on Mon Jul 13, 2009 05:49 PM PDTDear,
I don't make up the news, please check "Guardian". That is where this item came from.
Also, you may wish to learn not to attack others with whom you disagree. Otherwise, what is the difference between you and the same people you criticize in Iran as government? That may be the reason why most Iranians think what we have in Iran as government is not what we deserve, we deserve better. But, given the likes of you as alternatives, they'll probably stick with IRI.
Thanks.
how insulting
by anonymous fish on Mon Jul 13, 2009 04:47 PM PDTto the thousands of brave Iranian men and women who have stood up in protest against the criminal IRI. To suggest that they have been "led" by a foreign entity into protesting is the worst insult you could possibly hand them. It says a lot about who you are and who you stand for, WGM1919 when you post and support "news" like this.
But hey... is anyone really surprised? Not.

thanks for your skimpy reading !
Funnnnnnnnnnnnnnny!
by Anonymous111 on Mon Jul 13, 2009 12:30 PM PDTSoooooo, I guess that's it: being "accused" is enough. Done! Guilty!!! Yeaaah, that's the ticket...no trial...no witnesses....none needed...
And accused by whom? The IRI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How Funny....you clowns are just pathetic...grasping at straws to defend the indefensible!!!
This may be the case which
by Bavafa on Mon Jul 13, 2009 08:26 AM PDTThis may be the case which only an open to the public trial will legitimize their claim. Having said that, it is without any doubt that this movement was and is a product of the regime own failure to respect their own citizen.

Is He the New Shaboon ?
by wgm1919 on Mon Jul 13, 2009 06:51 AM PDTIt seems that in spite of difficulties in the road to democracy in Iran, still foreign agents are active to set Iran back to the era of "Shahanshah Arygoooooz" and the like.
thanks.
