On Friday July 19, a large group of mourners gathered at the Ghoba mosque in Tehran to await a speech about the martyrs of the post-election protests by presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi. According to one Iranian blog, 28-year-old Taraneh Mousavi was one of a group of people that was arrested by plainclothesed security forces for attending the gathering.Taraneh, whose first name is Persian for "song", disappeared into arrest.Weeks later, according to the blog, her mother received an anonymous call from a government agent saying that her daughter has been hospitalized in Imam Khomeini Hospital in the city of Karaj, just north of Tehran -- hospitalized for "rupturing of her womb and anus in... an unfortunate accident". When Taraneh's family went to the hospital to find her, they were told she was not there.According to another Iranian blog which claims to have original information about Taraneh from her family, Iranian security forces contacted Taraneh's family after the hospital visit warning them not to publicize Taraneh's story and not to associate her disappearance with arrests made at post-election protests, claiming instead that she had t... >>>

by Azarin Sadegh on Mon Jul 20, 2009 01:12 AM PDTEven if your personal blog wasn't very credible, but I found it very amusing..You're a member on IC since 10 hours ago and you're here just to promote your own blog which is against Taraneh! Your only activity in this 10 hours has been the addition of the same comment on 3 different article/news/blog about Taraneh!
Isn't it strange?!!
I'd say the more you insist on repeating the same thing, the more you turn your audience off! And we will begin to think that you might be trying to hide something from us...maybe Taraneh's story is correct. Who knows? When strange people register hastily here to discredit her death story....
I even think that Taraneh exists more than you, even if she's dead or a hoax. At least her picture looks real and current...:-) If she's a hoax, then you should be a hoax too...because you didn't exist until Taraneh stopped existing!
I know. We found out about it the following day, that it
by rosie is roxy is roshan on Sun Jul 19, 2009 04:59 PM PDTwas dubious when her death was announced on another news item in Persian. I cannot read teh Persian links you sent me but I assume there is good reason to question the story. Do you have any idea though why Huffington Post picked it up and made such a fuss about it? It is very strange that they made a whole article about it like that as opposed to just putting it on the blog as an unconfirmed tiem.
This story is dubious
by QLineOrientalist on Sun Jul 19, 2009 03:31 PM PDTThis story is very dubious. We have zero evidence the alleged victim even exists.
I have investigated this story based on the three blogs which started the story. Please read the results and make up your own mind.
