Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi assured the Anti-Defamation League [ADL] that his country would not help Iran launch a communications satellite, the ADL said in a statement released on Thursday.
The prime minister also stressed Rome’s commitment to prevent Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapons capability.
On Tuesday, the head of Iran’s Aerospace Industries Organization announced that his agency would use Italy to launch the satellite sometime before March 2012, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported.
