Mr Karoubi's son says his father still has doubts about the vote, but accepts the results following Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's endorsement.
Opposition activists are preparing for a new round of anti-Ahmadinejad protests on Revolution Day next month.
According to Iran's Fars news agency, Hossein Karoubi quoted his father as saying: "I am still of the same belief that the election was unhealthy and massively rigged.
"But since the [supreme] leader [Ayatollah Ali Khamenei] endorsed [Mr Ahmadinejad's victory], I believe that he is the head of the government, meaning he is the president."

Is Mousavi going to be next?
by Lynn Wong Abdullah on Mon Jan 25, 2010 04:57 PM PSTseem like there was a precedence set started by reazei! so what is going to happen to green movement? how does a nation fights for democracy without a proper leader and now one of the leader has gone to the 'other' side. I guess, the drama of Iran will continue to unfolds, so stay tune!
Mousavi
by IranMilitaryForum.net on Mon Jan 25, 2010 03:06 PM PSTwill also have to come to terms with the reality. Out of four "opposition candidates" Rezaee, karoubi, Rafsanjani and Mousavi, all (except Mousavi)have come to compromise realizing the status quo benefits no Iranian except the enemies of Iran. These men are all the pillars of Islamic revolution and as such will one way or other work together to resolve issues.Mousavi will commit a political suicide if he does otherwise. The same goes for the other side of the equation, Ahmadinejad and supporters, they too, I am sure, are giving up something to get this knot oppened for the sake of Iran's future.
