My own view...
by AMIR1973 on Fri Feb 05, 2010 08:49 PM PSTI think the Garbage Regime of Murder and Torture probably still has some years left in it. Years, not decades, but not weeks or months either. I support the protestors 110%, and I think justice is on their side. But they have to be able to expand beyond occasional street protests to strikes and at least have some part of the Iranian military defect or declare neutrality. Fundamentally, the pillars of the Murderer Regime are shaky (the regime is unpopular, and the economy has deep-seated problems), but it will take some more work to bring it down. However, the IRI is on the wrong side of history, and it will go. Anyway, that's my two cents (and history is hard to predict)...
AO: you are right, I am optimistic.
by Bavafa on Fri Feb 05, 2010 02:11 PM PSTI am not discounting their viciousness or lack of desire to fight back, but the Iranian people are on the path of no return to the old days.
I think the only thing that could set this movement back (not kill but back) is of some outside attack on Iranian soil. It could very well be instigated by the regime itself and I sure hope the West and Ezrael would not be foolish to bite. Unless of course they would want to keep this regime alive and in power.
