Iran's spies show how it's done
Asia Times Online / Mahan Abedin

The image of a young man being surrounded by balaclava-clad security officers by the side of a small commercial plane was designed to send the strongest possible message to Western intelligence services, their political masters and the Western public in general. If the West led by the mighty United States has failed in its nearly nine-year pursuit of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri, embattled Iran managed to get its man with minimal political and economic cost.

Aside from frustrating American subversion efforts in Iran's southeast, the capture of the Jundallah leader sends an unmistakable message that in the intelligence wars of the Middle East, the Islamic Republic of Iran has once again seized the initiative. The repercussions of this will be felt across all spheres and at all levels, boosting Iran's diplomatic and political posture in the region, and thus making the country less vulnerable to American and Israeli bullying.

[...]

By any standard, Abdulmalik Rigi's arrest is a major success for the Islamic Republic's intelligence services. This dramatic operation has boosted the morale of Islamic Republic loyalists throughout the Middle East and caused considerable dismay and embarrassment to Iran's Western enemies.

It's actually rather pathetic of you to equate the whole notion of being Iranian to voting in a rigged election.  Not being born in Iran, being raised there or at least even residing there for a sustained period of time, but rather voting in a fraudulent election in a petty third world military dictatorship the challenge of which resulted in young men and women being tortured, murdered and raped in the most savage way.

By the most basic standards of your own country of United States, which is really your homeland, you will fail the criteria for being an Iranian.  You weren't born there, you never lived there, and I doubt that you have even visited the country.  And then you have the balls to come on this site and call the rest of us who spent a great deal of our lives there and suffered through some of its darkest times, anti-Iranian.

Even if you, by some freak chance, have some Iranian blood in you, because of what and who you are, and where you have spent all of your life, you can be called the epitome and the ultimate personification of an "exile".

Just look at who are your followers on this site: the other non-Iranian village idiot IMF and the psycho No Fear.  That should tell a lot about your character. are no authority on Iran.  You know as much about Iran as a Wikipedia page.  Stop insulting us and go walk your dogs wherever you live in the U.S., you phony American.

AMIR1973

O IRI cyber groupies in the West: IRI's elections are a sham

by AMIR1973 on

Elections only have value in democracies. IRI is a dictatorship run by mollahs and their executioners (aka Pasdaran). In democracies, the Leader-for-life of the country is not chosen by 86 priests or clerics, as it is in IRI. In democracies, there are extensive freedoms, like free speech, free religion, free press, free assembly (and the freedom to come online and propagandize on behalf of Rapist Regimes--but you already know about that). IRI is unreformable and unredeemable; it is a 31 year disaster of historic proportions for Iran. It is the most violent and repressive regime in Iran's recent history. Cuba, Syria, Egypt, and the former USSR have "elections" too, but they are as worthless as those of the IRI. So keep, peddling your garbage. See if there are any buyers out there...

You don't want to vote.

You won't go to Iran and fight IR face to face.

You won't take up arms against IR.

Well said! Also they are all armchair generals asking others to risk their lives while these pathetic characters keep away as far as possible from the actual conflict, whatever that may be!

Fair

voting is a personal choice

by Fair on

and not for a fascist supporter of rapists and murderers like waffen ss major to decide.

Many Iranians did not vote because they did not believe in either Mousavi or AN.  Many other Iranians voted because they thought that choosing the lesser of 2 evils would help.  I respect both choices, as it is the right of any citizen.  Regardless of which camp one was in, ALL Iranians found out one thing- that when the terrorists want a certain outcome, they will stop at nothing to ensure it.  Even lying in broad daylight, murdering people in the streets, and raping them and torturing innocent boys and girls in prison.  And hiring shameless criminals to come on the internet to lie about it.

It is clear as daylight who is anti Iranian.  Whoever stands against the people of Iran is anti Iranian.   And whoever stands with murderers and rapists against any human being is just a downright criminal and terrorist.

Like I have said before, Iran has had traitors like you waffen SS major and south lebanese chicken little, but always always Iran has outlasted you long after they were gone.  You will be no different.  because Iran is bigger than you can imagine.  Way bigger.

You First Sargord

by Anonymous Observer on

after you give us a detailed accounting of where you have lived, step by step, from the time you were born until now, when was your last visit to Iran, and when, if at any time, you have lived in Iran?

I am also interested in knowing where you voted and get your detailed account of it first before I disclose mine.

Well AO, DID you vote? Tell

by Sargord Pirouz on

Well AO, DID you vote? Tell us EXACTLY, step by step the voting procedure at the polling station.

Ohio? Where in the world did you get that? Strange.

I've given many personal details here at IC  already, relevant to my living arrangements and studies in Iran. This constant "you're not Iranian" and "leave my Iran alone" nonsense is your only recourse to a hopelessly weak argument to the topic at hand. I used to think it was intellectual laziness or even over-emotionalism, but since this condition appears chronic, it's obviously more than that.

Anyway, yeah, looking forward to your detailed account of voting in the June election...

How do you know I didn't vote? :-))

When was the last time you were in Iran?  Wren't you raised, and don't you reside (and haven't you resided your whole life) in various places in the U.S., including Ohio?  When was the last time you visisted Iran?  How long did you stay there?  When was the last time you lived in Iran?  Where you a war refugee in the 1980's like my family was, living with three generations of your family (more than 20 people) in a two bedroom apartment with one bathroom?

Kindly bag it, and take your fake patriotism and your unhealthy obsession with military and war to some other country and leave mine alone.

Hilarious, Anon. I fulfilled

by Sargord Pirouz on

Hilarious, Anon. I fulfilled my responsibilities as an Iranian citizen and voted in the June election- you did not. So who isn't Iranian?

How can you claim you're an Iranian if you don't even bother to participate in the workings of the Meehan? You can't. But I'll tell you what you can engage in: anti-Iran cheerleading. And that makes you (and Fear) an Anti-Iranian, which is certainly not something to be proud of.

Thanks, IMF. Mahan Abedin is fairly well connected with Iran's security establishment, so his inside perspective was highly anticipated. It's not a total fluff piece, either.

military might!

by capt_ayhab on

In months leading to Iraq Invasion, US gave all the munition to Saddam to brag about his military might this and that.

How stupid of Ahmadinejad  and the Regime cultist not to notice the similarities.

P/S This comment has nothing to do with the bravery and the sacrifice of every single men and women  during Iran Iraq war. They command my full respect and admiration for they gave their lives to protect IRAN.

When has anyone on this thread (except for you) talked about Israel's military?  Either post a link or STFU.  Second, if there's anyone on this site who puts Iran in peril are idiots like you who lie about IRI's military and invite an attack on Iran.  see, if anyone in the big bad "west" is conspiring to attack Iran, you and people like you give them the excuse they need by constantly yapping and lying about IRI's military. In fact, one would suspect that you're an Israeli propaganda machine because your posts about the power of IRI's missiles and other military equipment are identical to the propaganda put out by Israel to rush the U.S. and others into attacking Iran.  When in fact, people like me who point out the real state of Iran's military defuse those hyped up tensions.

But this actually makes sense coming out of you because being that you're not an Iranian (and neither is Sargord) you really don't care about Iran being attacked.  You just want a war, just like Israel and just like the warmongers in the U.S.

Thanks for sharing this article. Never I am sure by now you are used to these self proclaimed anti Iranians who appear every time there is a mal talk of Israel or talk of Iranian military to tell us how great Israel is and how terribe Iranian military is. Either way, they are anti Iran spewers, well known characters here!

No Fear

Rightfully said.

by No Fear on

As Ahmadinejad rightfully said in Afghanistan recently that the war on terrorism must be by the use of intelligence and not military force.

There is so much truth to what he said.

Oh, and did you remember

by Fair on

to mention the amazing and impressive role that the IRIAF "strike fighters" (40 year old surplus metal) played?  They actually managed to convince a civilian airliner fliying over Iran airspace to land!  Wowwwww!!  Ta cheshme har cheh doshmane rahbare moazzam koor sheh!  Barikallah beh in ghodrate azeem  Hameh salavat befrestid.  This amazing military power should cause the "enemy" to tremble.

What a complete joke and farce:)
