The sanctions are meant to ultimately make Iranians suffer because the opposition has failed to over throw the Iranian government as the West was much hoping for.
What is emerging is the conviction on the opposition side that yet again it was proved that huan rights and democracy wishes for the West for the Iranian people and others are nothing but tools to further hegemony of the West into third world and developing countries. Iranian opposition should have arrived at such concusions a long time ago if they only paid a minute attention to the countries under US inflence in the region and their progress (or lack of it) in their human rights and democracy programs.

No sanction, no punishement, no war
by mahmoudg on Sun Jun 13, 2010 09:58 AM PDTthen what do you guys want. Me and millions like me are in favor of surgical attacks. If peole are against attacks, then they should be in favor of sanctions to alter the sadistic behavior of this regime. if nothing is done then we can surmise that those in support of doing nothing are in favor of the regime. At the end of the day, sanctions will not work either and the only alternative is surgical attacks on the regime's assts and military bases.
