Collaborators, Useful Idiots, and Regime Agents

Dear Comrade,

The collaborators are PART of the problem, not ALL of it.

Problem One

Collaborators exist in all societies. They lack ethical principles, and they provide their services for anyone in power. The individuals in this category are oppotunists, immoral, and unethical. In Persian, we have several names for them:

* fahesheh siasi (political prostitutes) [my apologies to the prostitutes, many of whom have to do this due to economic needs].

* hezb baad (party of the wind)

* do nabshi (a shop or house that opens to different roads)

* noon o beh nerkh rooz mikhorand (they get their bread from the prevailing condition)

Problem Two

Another problem is the existence of those who lack long-term insight and are used by the those in power. In Persian we call them

* doostiey khaleh kherseh (the friendship of aunt bear) this is based on a children’s story of a bear who had good intentions and wanted to kill the fly that was biting his friend who was sleep by smashing the fly with a big boulder in the process killing his sleeping friend.

In English they use the term "useful idiots" for such individuals. The useful idiots are decent persons who are manipulated and used by malevolent powers.

Today, many leftists in the U.S. (and Europe) are used by the agents of the fundamentalist regime to help them.

Problem Three

This group is the dictatorial group in power that is committing horrendous crimes to remain in power.

In my opinion, ALL these groups are the problem. In my opinion, the biggest problem is the existence of the brutal dictatorial group (group Three). In today, this is the fundamentalist regime. The second problem is the collaborators (group One). And the third problem is the "useful idiots" (group Two).

It is the responsibility of all of us to:

* fight against the fundamentalist regime;

* expose and condemn those who collaborate with the fundamentalist regime;

* and show the "useful idiots" how reactionary and oppressive the fundamentalist regime is and convince them to stop being used and manipulated by the fundamentalist regime.

The Leftist Iranians have failed to have connections with their comrades in the U.S. and Europe to gain their solidarity with them in their struggles against the reactionary fundamentalist regime. This failure opened the door for the fundamentalist regime and its agents to fool American and European progressives. These IRI agents pose as progressives (anti-war, pro-peace) and fool the useful idiots and promote the interests of the fundamentalist regime.
