The Honorable Prime Minister Yeoryios Papandreou

Republic of Greece-Athens-Greece

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

I have observed and been advised of the devastating circumstances of the young Iranian dissident refugees in Greece.

Iranians, inside the country and amongst the Diaspora, are saddened to note that the proud and great people of Greece, where democracy was born, may be turning their backs on these latter day champions of democracy.

Plato teaches us: “He who commits injustice is ever made more wretched than he who suffers it” The Green Youth of Iran have suffered and continue to suffer great injustice at the hands of the brutal Islamic regime. But as Plato teaches us wisely across the ages this injustice makes the perpetrator wretchedand the youth heroes of modern day history.

I call on our Greek brethren to live up to their historic traditions. I call upon the government of Greece and the sister nations of the European Union, to observe all the laws pertaining to the rights of refugees and to provide, at least, the minimum amount of food, shelter, medical and social services to aid thesebrave young men and women.

The world is watching hopefully. The young Iranian "Green" resistance movement has earned the respect of all civilized people. History will judge us in accordance to our support for human values andrights for the dignity of... >>>

DK,

This is a great initiative by RP and a good opportunity for him to lead the cause of the Iranian refugees by more writing campaigns to the heads of governments with Iranian refugees at hand.

In addition, it would be very helpful to see RP collaborating with refugee advocates like LalehGillani, Maryam Nayeb Yazdi, Sahameddin Ghiassi, the Iranian refugee websites, attoneys and contributors to set up offices (even P.O. Boxes) to make the lives of these refugees better.

The respect RP will gain by these acts will be enormouse.
