I repeat my question--Colonel Hemayat

by Anonymous1 (not verified) on

These were bright kids who were were misdirected after 1953 coup. Bijan has written some of the most detailed and accurate accounts of Iran's recent history, Tarikhe Si-saleh-e Iran, among other works. He has detailed account of events that lead to 1979 revolution and described how Khomeini was in a position to become a leader.

The creation of Cherikai-e Fadayi-e Khalg (CFK) was to deliver what the Tudeh party did not (or could not) in 1953. He and some younger generation of the Tudeh were deeply discouraged by the lack of initiative from the military wing of the Tudeh in 1953. Therefore, he and others established CFK with the soul purpose of bringing socialism by armed struggle. This was then, and remains today the most UNacceptable reason for starting a political party, plain stupid. But, this was not unique to Iran.

To understand the reason behind such idiocy, one must remember the events and history at the time. These were college kids who were cought up with the world wide radicalism of the time. War in Vietnam against communism, decades long Marxist insurgencies in south America had grown into an "armed struggle" campaign against capitalism (Castro and Che). The coming on the scene of the European left extremism like Bader Meinhof -- RAF, with emphasis on "armed struggle", China and others.

So, this "armed struggle" ideology was not an extremist Iranian concept at all. The CFK saw the 1953 coup as a military defeat and in response advocated an armed struggle against the regime. Well, may be you can tell me how viable is this "armed struggle" concept, even in modern democarcies. This was a tragic mistake, plain and simple.

The other tragedy was the posturing of these groups during 1979 events that mislead many educated people who could not see the lurking Islamic catastrophy behind these groups.

Hope this helps,
--Cheers

Soviet tools

by Anon23 (not verified) on

These were Soviet and Chinese tools who subscribed to a belief system that, had they come to power, would have caused the murder of Millions of Iranians. Some had good intentions, but so what. The road to ruin is paved with good intentions. I'm glad the Communist/Stalinist/Maoist/"Whatever else you want to call it"ist movement saw it's death in Iran and the rest of the World.

amusing

by shared names (not verified) on

First of all, I never said I was a communist. I'm not. I do not claim to be.

And yes those structures are not communist. They stayed within the realm of a bureaucratic dictatorship (not to be confused with a dictatorship of the working class). Sorry if that bursts your bubble. Much of the known communist theory ("Marxist") is actually speculation of what the future will hold.

But, the same "That is not true (insert theory here)" can be used with capitalism. Because liberal capitalism is much different from socio-democratic capitalism or corporate capitalism. I do not see why such a statement is unjustified.

The world is more complex than you nay sayers would like to believe.

I am still confused as to what selling clothing has to do with communist theory vs. practice?

Please enlighten.

response to: Shared Name

by Masoud11 (not verified) on

Funny how, when pointing out all the failed leftist regiems, these communist assholes always say "Oh, but that government was not a true representation of our thinking. It was Marxist. It was Maoist. It was Stalinist. It was ....".

Fact is that Marxism, in all it forms, was a flawed economical and political model. And the Marxist in Iran were traitors who took thier orders from thier masters in USSR, China, etc. The Ayatollahs did well to kill the bunch of them. Too bad the Shah was not as effectove against them as the Mollahs.

To "shared names"

by Majid on

Your post is the kind I like to read and think about , thanks.

I have one question though, you say "Cuba isn't an example, neither was Soviet Union" ! and if I may add , for the sake of argument, Czeck rep., Poland, Romania, Yugaslavia, North Korea, Albania were not either! am I right? and if not them then WHO WHERE?

If you are a sales person for a fashion designer or a clothing company, trying to sell me some clothing and your own outfit "be tanet zaar mizaneh"! do you expect to me to buy anything from you????

Regards,

Let us not forget.

by shared names (not verified) on

First of all, these long winded rants are absurd, but for some reason I feel compelled to add to it.

Let us not forget the numerous Iranian people tortured, executed, and assassinated by the Shah's Savak. Nothing justifies such behavior.

Let us not forget the Iranian students beaten and tortured to death much like those dying for the prospects of freedom today.

Can anyone uplift such a leader?

Also, let us not assume that the Fedaee were Stalinists or Maoists. Many, if not all, opposed such socio-economic structures.

It would be naive to think that there is any one communist theory, just as it would be naive to assume that there is one form of capitalism.

Many of you may assume that every "commi" is a petite bourgeois intellectual, but for every "commi" fulfilling that characiture, there are thousands of people whom are arriving at the same conclusions. Some of which are consciously communists; some of which are just like minded individuals. Whatever you want to call yourself the social evolution of humankind is inevitable.

Also, Cuba isn't an example of communism and neither was Soviet Russia. Please read some more socio-political history before intellectually vomiting on this thread.

I am only making such statements so that the nay sayers don't end up accumulating as many "I told you so"'s in the future.

if these people (mojahed, fadaiee, maosit.etc) would have to come to power, like or it not Iran would have become another killing field like cambodia or gulags of soviet union, with reducational and torture camps you name it. At that point majority of you would have begged to have some one kind and easy going like shah of Iran! glad he left the country to show you people how right he was. Too bad he was a humaniterian, he should have exterminated these cock roaches from commi's to mulah's

real eye opener, amazing

Wallace: Well, they talk about psychological and physical torture.

Shah of Iran: Physical, I don't believe.

Wallace: I talked --

Shah: Not any more. Maybe in the old days. Maybe.

Wallace: I talked just today to a man, whom I believe, who told about torture.

Shah: How many years ago?

Wallace: Within -- I want to be very careful. Not yesterday.

Shah: Ah, well, maybe. I don't know.

Wallace: The word has gone out to stop it?

Shah: To stop what?

Wallace: Torture.

Shah: But a long time ago, yes.

Wallace: How long ago?

Shah: Well, I won't tell you, as you don't tell me.

by Internets on

We are all Internet warriors (yes, yours truly included). We sit in the
comfort of our homes/offices and blog or respond to blogs, from a position of
relative comfort and tranquility.

I am very ammused by those of you who are so judgemental to the degree of
resorting to vulgarity and Internet "violence". Do you realize that you are
passing judgement on a group of people from over 30 years ago, who were probably
too young, too misguided and too easily influenced by the likes of Toodeh and
the Communist doctorin?. Perhaps if these folks were given an extra 30+ years of
life plus the benefit of Internet, some of them would probably have been right
here, fighting Internet pitch battles with some of you Monarchists, Capitalists,
Communists or IRI Islamists.

How about Kasravi, he wasn't a Commie!

by Imagine (not verified) on

why was he killed?.... Shah was lacking political and social will (balls) to confront his own personal demons and the backward mullahs. Instead he was blaming intellectuals and thinkers and went as far as killing however many as he could get his hands on. When Kasravi was killed by mullah's fatwa and royal blessing everyone in royal court were very happy, because he was shining light on a very close relations between Shah and Mullahs establishment which considered Kasravi as ant anti religion and infidel. Kasravir opened the door and showed the mullahs and shah(s) need each other to survive and indeed were/are two sides to a same coin. So my friends don’t blame others for your own incompetence, backwardness and brutality.

to: The New Aftabehs Group

by Kamangir on

The only reason our Shah didn't massacre all the jackasses (both islamic jonoob shari) and the only reason he left, was because he did not consider himself to be a dictator, he was a king. He did the right thing by leaving, do not forget that if he hadn't done so, you jackasses wouldn't have had the opportunity of coming to the West. You and the kinds of you fucked up a country and have left it behind because the smell of your own Islamic shit is unbearable even to yourselves. I've never been keen on the communists and their affiliations in Iran, however they are 1000 times better than the 'aftabeh bedastane' nane kalagh chadorie hezbolahi (now called the new aftabehs) in the west. Nobody 'hijacked' your crap called revolution, since the first day it was and still remains a shit, the arabo-muslim poor, ignorant and backward masses of jackasses who saw the face of that son of a bitch of jomeini on the moon. Ridam too oon enghelabetoon, too oon ghabre khomeiniye dayoosetoon va khosoosan ridam dar nasletoon.

Go back to your ahmadinejade aftabe bedast, pefioozha.

Titra Parsi is evil

I 100% agree, Titra Parsi, Hooshang Amir Ahmadi, Gary Sick are all working for the evil Islamic Republic of Iran.

Titra, god know where he was 5-7 years ago, is the same type as Ardeshir Jay ( Reorter) a fucking British made stoog. All of sudden he has become a Mideast expert kissing Akhound ass.

They were mere idiots, no need for such a wrathful response!

by Baez (not verified) on

I can understand the frustration we feel today, but these bunch were merely idiots and fools of their time. As someone said earlier they never grew up. Simpleton stupid fools used by the real evil forces, like the master minds in the top ranks of their corrupt lefty parties, especailly those traitors that formed the leadership of Tudeh party. The same evil exists today, the so called anti-imperialist "intellectuals", the post-modern "post structeralist" fascists like Dabashi in Columbia and lobbyists like Trita Parsi and his gang.
They are the true evil of our age. Don't waste your energy on these dead fools and idiots. Concentrate on teh real enemy.

Civil society

by Ajam (not verified) on

People who lack literacy and education are always affraid of new ideas (e.g. liberalism, social democracy, socialism and communism) and can not tell one from another. My late grandfather who only had maktab education (practically illiterate), always uttered "allah-o-akbar" when he passed by the Firuzkuh road and rail road as a seign of awe and admiration for the workmanship and effort taken for the constructions of such scale. Individuals like him tend to measure every social developments by their traditional standards. What they do not realize is that a progressive society needs plolitical development as well as economic in order to advance. There's no doubt that Germany experienced its fastest infrastructural development during the 1930's under Adolph Hitler. Yet it remained a totalitarian society during that interval experiencing a dark period of intollerance and fascism.

Unfortunately, after all these decades, history has not taught us to tolerate differing opinions which can only help develop our soiety and expedite much needed moves toward a civil society that is the main platform of a democratic society. In such a society leftist, centrist and rghist ideologies are free to express their ideas in an atmosphere of freedom as they are in the more developed societies as Europe and Canada. So long as we act immaturely like political three stooges beakering over the legitimacy of such ideas, we are doomed to be ruled by inept dictators and autocrats.

Yes we do remember!!!

by Anonymous1 (not verified) on

Yeah it seems you only "remember" what you want to remember. But we also remember; a Shah that was thrown out of country twice! We remember SAVAK, torture, executions of bright minds of Iran. We remember Jhaleh square massacre and many more atrocities that your royal regime committed. Remember your "god", “savor” The SHAH treatment of middle class and poor intellectuals for 37 years created a breading ground for mullahs and IRI. We also remember his "majesty" going against the will of a nation hand in hand with mullahs crushed a nation’s dreams and aspirations in those summer days of 1953. Shame on you sir, for only selectively remembering the history and feverishly trying to forget what has been done to this nation under Shah(s), perhaps one day in the future you will try to forget that what has been done to Iran by mullahs under will and sword of “god and religion”. Shame…….
