Hijab
by Hesam (not verified) on Fri Dec 21, 2007 06:28 PM PSTMy previous comment regarding Hijab:
I believe that both men and women should have the right to walk even in nude if the weather allows.
I believe no one, for any reason whatsoever has the right to tell us what to wear or not to wear for the simple reason that God has brought us to this world without any clothes or artificial additives!
The only reason clothes were invented was to cover the sensitive human body against the cold and against the sun. Later it became fashionable to have individuality by choosing different styles of "body-protectors."
The word "Hijab" which could easily be translated to "Morality not to engage in inappropriate relationships" or "Nejaabat" in Farsi, has been abused by men who are using religions to control the people.
The reason supposedly Islamic regimes have insisted on covering women's bodies by long, dark fabrics is that they believe that men will be tempted to engage in inappropiate conduct by seeing women's beautiful bodies!
So you see, it's not women they're worried about, but it's themselves!
Why? Because in their small society and with their small minds, whenever they've seen a beautiful woman they could not and did not control themselves. They did not act like a gentleman by respecting the women and treating them as their equals.
They're afraid of their own conduct, so there are 3 choices left: 1. To put our good women into a box of Hijab, 2. To turn away and not look at any women anywhere, or 3. To get some good brain and social etiquette.
Unfortunately # 2 and # 3 are not easy enough for them.
then why you are f..ing
by Anony (not verified) on Thu Dec 13, 2007 04:03 PM PSTthen why you are f..ing Mullahs creating limitations for yourselves. wouldn't it be nicer to be able to see boobs and asses they way we see them here. you can of-course keep your own wives and daughters in cage, ...that is if they allow you!
Not all men care how you dress,
by Payola (not verified) on Thu Dec 13, 2007 12:02 PM PSTThere are those of us who could care less how Women dress or even if they don't dress at all. There are those of us who find all this wasted energy on appearances very limiting, exasperating, Sad and Pathetic. If a Women is having a bad hair day or if she has no hair due to chemo-therapy from cancer or some
accident, then she should have the right to put on a
chador and just say F--- U to all the Fashionistas out
there. At some point when maturity sets in folks will
realize that time spent in front of the mirror dolling
yourself up is indeed time wasted. I don't advocate looking like a bag lady, but the Street Walker look
is not very edifying either. If Men in Iran had decent jobs then they'd be too busy working instead of gawking at any female who happens to pass by. Their motto ought to be "Jobs Not Hejabs"!!!
hejab? i still don't understand it.
by sherri (not verified) on Thu Dec 13, 2007 09:36 AM PSTthe mullah's usually say that hejab isn't a limit, but acctually free's women. so they finally confessed that they're wrong. but i still don't know why after 1386 years, we still haven't found a cultured way to solve the problem of women being born naturally beautiful and men naturally being attracted to them. maybe quran should be changed. or maybe god should recheck his equations and confess that hejab isn't the way to fix what he himself created. specially since it doesn't work. take a look at what's going on in Tehran, for example.
Do not go gentle into that good night
by n.zanincanadai1 (not verified) on Thu Dec 13, 2007 09:25 AM PSTMen have always been threatened by women's sexuality. Just check out some of the items on this site! I just don't understan why women oblige! Rage Rage against the dying of the light...
chstity should be internalized not forced supperficially!
by Tahirih (not verified) on Thu Dec 13, 2007 06:19 AM PSTI find this sign more offensive to men ,bringing their status so low that they are being persived as not able to control their erges!
1300 years ago yes,but at this age and time of humanity it is an insult to men.In the west women are not wearing hejab,do we find men holding their genitals and running after women?
Why men in Iran do not stand up and say,we are able to control ourselves????

I Laughed So Hard!
by Mehdi on Wed Dec 12, 2007 04:28 PM PSTThis is the funniest sign I have seen in a long time. Is it real? I am so enlightened now! All this time I thought it was a restriction on women. You learn something new everyday!
On the brighter side, this is a step forward because at least it admits that hejab is in fact a restriction. :-)
