I have not seen a single coherent argument here for the ideology of Islam. Everyone has thus far described - and very CRUDELY and inaccurately - events that took place in parts of the world that had governments that were "Islamic." You need to DISTINGUISH between an ideology and the way that people practice it. All the BS you mention about rape, pedophilia, war, etc. are acts that may have been - and this is VERY DEBATABLE - carried out in the name of Islam.

NEWSFLASH: Divine sources (religious texts) have ALWAYS been MISUSED by people in order to carry out actions that benefit themselves somehow - THIS IS NOTHING NEW! I think everyone will agree that this has occurred all throughout time in virtually all places humans have inhabited and is CERTAINLY not a behavior LIMITED to societies where the predominant religion/ideology has been Islam.

However, equating ACTIONS that people have done on their own accord and with their own misinterpretation of scripture with the MEANING of the scripture or the essential MESSAGE of the one who brought the message is not only ridiculously OVERLY SIMPLISTIC but also just PLAIN WRONG.

And stop throwing around BUZZ WORDS/NEOLOGISMS used on FOXNEWS like "Islamist," "Islamic Fundamentalism," "TERRORIST," "JIHADIST," and/or any combination of. If you want to talk about something use your language to communicate your message, it's pity to waste thousands of people who are reading's time on here and abusing your privilege to say whatever you please by right of ability to do simple arithmetic. Don't abuse your anonymity by being rude. I'm sure you have the intellect to communicate what you intend without using loaded words and being disrespectful.

In short: stop taking your grudge with the IRI on people that follow scripture because you're just as bad as those you don't approve of.
