Un-effing-believable. This
by Logical American (not verified) on Wed Oct 03, 2007 02:46 PM PDTUn-effing-believable. This is a comedic piece, for crying out loud. Why must some people make it bigger than it really is? Why do those folks have to attach some philosophical b.s. to a light-hearted piece that is in no way paralell to reality? I must say that most Iranians who were not born or raised in the US from a young age, have a tendency of taking life entirely too seriously.
I also love the fact that Iranian guys all know what is best for Iranian girls. As my fellow Americans say "opinions are like assholes, everyone has got one".

by Manoochehr (not verified) on Sun Sep 16, 2007 09:16 PM PDTLighten up guys, this is not a documentary, but just a movie and a comedy in that, which IS supposed to exaggerate, or rather as euphemitically said, to enhance and aggrandise the subtlities of life,to make you laugh and have fun. Exactly as you expect of a caricature. Then, where is your beef, and why?
I recommend every one to go and watch it when it apppears on the big screen. A movie whose makers are worhty of any , & every support.

still it is the reality and its inevitible that cultures will clash and ultimately merge..The solution was long ago given by the Persian Prophet Baha'u'llah who foresaw of today's social issues; as a result of His teachings on the need for Unity betwee races and cultures, the very first marriage between a Persian and an American, happened in early 1900s; it was between Francis Breed , a Bostonian Debutante and Ali Quli Khan who later became the Persian Charge Daffaire to Washington during Woodrow Wilson's Presidency.

by Mammad Eshghi (not verified) on Sun Sep 16, 2007 07:56 PM PDTThis movie is a great example of why Iranian girls should not date or marry anyone other than a man from their own cultur. As they say:

Too Cheesy:
by UCLA (not verified) on Sun Sep 16, 2007 05:49 PM PDTHaving gone to UCLA, it is rare that there is an American guy this CLUELESS about the culture of an Iranian girl who he LOVES and is LIVING with. If it was a first date, maybe the cheesiness would be funny and quaint, but knowing they are in love and living together, it's just sad that the guy shows so little awareness of her culture. This could also be her fault for not guiding him through it better.
Thumbs Down
by Persian-American woman (not verified) on Sun Sep 16, 2007 02:33 PM PDTThe small clip truly fails to show the correct dynamics that exist between Persian American women and the American men they date. I think it useful that attempts are being made to explore the intricacies of this type of relationship but it's important to stay away from exaggerating stereotypes, and taking a more honest sincere approach. Only then will you make an impact as a producer.
*Take it from a Persian American woman who is married to an American man.
Great stuff
by Sagsda (not verified) on Sun Sep 16, 2007 10:56 AM PDTWe need to see more of this kind of thing. The problems that exist between Persian parents and American suitors is bad news. It can be treated with humor like this, or with tragedy as well.
Looking forward to the next installment.
On another note, creating a mini series of situations between couples is fun. My friend (A Persian) and I (an American) have begun a similar venture. You can see The Bagleys on You Tube.
We will be shooting the second installment very soon.
Keep up the good work.
Warm Regards
