Away from the politics and the hard feelings, this is and will always be a great tune. We sang this song on in the school yard, on the first day back to school after the revolution. I will never forget that day (1st of Esfand 1357).
The other song I love was the Allah-o-akbar, Khomeini rahbar. I brought a tape of it with me when I left Iran and kids at my school were humming this song.

Let us celebrate the music and not the politics.

The Ayatollah RohAllah Musavi Khomayni was a great leader for the people of Iran.  It was during his time that the US sent arms to Iran as in the Iran-Contra affair.  Recently, former Iranian President Rafsanjani said that in the later years, Khomeyni was thinking about dropping the chant, "Death to America".  America has done a lot for Iran, the Iranian people, and the Persians.  The AyatAllah RohAllah Musavi Khomayni helped civilize his nation and prevented the communists from taking over.  In the early 1980s he signed the execution papers for a lot of treasonous communists like the Mujahedeen Khalq.  In doing so, he was trying to Americanize himself.  God bless him and God bless America.
