Confused? Two Sorayas

There are two singers named Soraya. The Spaniard which as far as I understand is still very much alive. The Columbian which is the one who died due to Breast Cancer.  The Spaniard is named Soraya Arnelas and the Columbian is named Soraya Raquel Lamiilla Cuevas.

 I think this video is of Soraya Arnelas because the other one was conservative in her videos.

Soraya cont'd.

Soraya was from Colombian parents and born in New Jersey. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 31. There was a history of breast cancer in her family. Her grandmother, mother and aunt all died from the disease. She wrote a book about it and the royalties from the book  are being donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Like I said I would vote for her as the Hispanic of the Day. I obtained the information from her official website.

I did not realize Soraya had passed on. I shall have to let my sisters know. They liked her too. I shall have to go back and check her official website. I have not been to it in a year or so. It is truly sad to hear she has lost her life to breast cancer. I lost a dear aunt to breast cancer. Truly tragic.

she was tragically diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer and Soraya left us on May 10th, 2006. SORAYA: A Life of Music, a Legacy of Hope was her last great effort.
