A little over a month ago, I asked for your help in finishing a public service announcement promoting understanding and peace. Thanks to the tremendous response and support, the project is now complete. This is the final version of the project featuring fifty Iranian Americans: who we are, what we believe and why we're for peace. A dedicated website about the participants and how the project got started is now up -- www.voicesforpeace.net. I am eternally grateful to this beautiful community of ours for believing in this project and opening so many doors to make it possible.

To my Friend Natalia Alvarado-Alvarez
by Abol Hassan Danesh, Author (not verified) on Tue Jun 17, 2008 05:34 PM PDTRepeating your cute sentence: What in the world I am talking about?!
I am talking about application fee ... they way you get in and pay the fees for citizenship... you need to pay all the application fees when wish to get out and to exit.
What in the world I am talking about? Simple! It is all about money, about application, and about application fees...that is what I am talking about...
For the lack of a better word: I call it "THE BILL OF CLEAN EXIT" and that is what it needs to be lobbyed in the congress so the "Certificate of Exit Authentification" can be granted in a ceremony hopefully on the fourth of july in a big cook out with lots of grapes instead of watermelone....
Natali call me I tell you more stuff about this bill withut charging you a penny.

Abol Danesh apparently......
by Natalia Alvarado-Alvarez on Tue Jun 17, 2008 04:45 PM PDTApparently, you are not aware that any ethnic group can renounce their citizenship and return to their native country to live. What in the world are you taking about?!

The US Government
by Abol Danesh, Author (not verified) on Tue Jun 17, 2008 04:19 PM PDT... It is important for the Iranian American community that each and every memeber of it should be granted the right and privilege to renounce and cancel or revoke his or her US Citizen (Revoke application) ship at any time when he or she wish to return to his homeland Iran as Iranian citizen only with all rights intact threin , therefore, thereafter, and hitherto--
I disagree with the approach
by An Iranian (not verified) on Tue Jun 17, 2008 04:13 PM PDTI commeted on the first version of this ad, but it seems my comments were deleted.
I disagree with the approach that the maker of this video took.
I thought that, for one, a much different script altering parts of the video was essential.
For instance, getting rid of the "we free the jews" and perhaps quoting an Iranian (author, poet, etc) instead of one Dr. Martin Luther King would have been better. Once again, "god bless this, god bless that, ..." I see was left in the commercial to cater to perhaps the more conservative in America.
The commercial comes off, still, as very apologist as if we are trying to apologize to the West for our country's behavior and at the same time ask for their approval to be a part of their society.
There are any number of other critiques one can make. But I understand and agree with the directors intent to show Iran as a multifaceted society. I disagree with the execution of the project and the many biases the director brings with herself/himself in this commercial.
Awesome!
