It is Quite Humorous
by Areh (not verified) on Thu Jan 24, 2008 05:03 PM PSTIt is quite humorous, John Carpenter(Luigi Milani), that one can be so stupid.
john Carpenter is right
by Luigi Milani (not verified) on Tue Jan 22, 2008 04:42 PM PSTWhere are you getting your statistics?
Women are more educated in Iran today than during the Shah's time.
The Shah was a piece of Shit. And Reza Khan was kicked out of the country for supporting the Nazis.
I shit on both Pahlavis. Long Live freedom.
John William Carpenter III get educated
by Love a Secular Iran or Die (not verified) on Mon Jan 21, 2008 12:14 PM PSTFace it John Carpenter; you are not American; you are an Iranian writing under this name. God knows why but thats the truth.
Secondly, unlike you, I have time and patience to educate idiots such as yourself.
You are saying Khomeini was better than the Shah? What is the basis of your argument? Was he better because of the fact his regime has been oppressing the women for the past 30 years? Was he better because his regime has been oppressing the Jews, Christians and Bahais for the last 30 years? Or, was he better than Shah because the economy of Iran, despite record oil prices 15 out of the last 30 years have been at historical highs as the economy of Iran is in the toilet; 18% unemployment within men; 37% unemployment among women who are looking for work? Or is he better for having developed a rate of 12% prostitution among women in large cities? Maybe since your mother was in this business, you don't mind innocent women being forced into prostitution. But let me tell you, majority of Iranians and I do not like this line of work, for any Iranian woman.
Oh, its perhaps the 27% opium addiction rate among the youth in large cities that has prompted you to vote Khomeini and his 30 year old legacy a success; one thats better than the Shah.
Let me tell you; I am no fan of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. I think he was a gutless man. Nothing like his great father, Reza Shah whose blessed soul may rest in peace.
However, what even the Shah did for Iran in terms of bringing it to the verge of 20th century was orders of magnitude better than the current regime of filth.
With the hope that one day all Islamic clerics are hung by their balls and Iran is made into a secular true democracy.
Now go call your mom and tell her you'll support her so she doesn't have to continue her line of work.
Enslavement
by Milan (not verified) on Mon Jan 21, 2008 12:05 PM PSTScenes like these strongly suggest that our national psyche is being enslaved by 1)the past and its tragic events occurring centuries ago, and 2) by the future and its promises of salvation, Ghee'yamat, etc. As a result, we have sacrificed our presence, which is our only connection to creativity, practicality, beauty, and peacefulness.
Iran has been mourning since 1979
by Anon (not verified) on Mon Jan 21, 2008 10:42 AM PSTThe mullah thugs turned Iran into a cemetery since 1979.
By mourning events of 1300+ years ago the ruling mullahs hope to distract Iranians from their own daily needs, from the devastatingly high levels of poverty, and lack of human rights.
People are now desensitized to religion, death, torture, poverty, prostitution, and executions. There is no logical sense of wrong and right. Everyone has become a numb zombie waiting and hoping to die so they can put an end to their miserable life and become free of violent and bloodthirsty mullahs.
Hmmmmm
by mani123 (not verified) on Mon Jan 21, 2008 09:41 AM PSTThey felt soooo bad for Hossein that they caused the death of 1 million innocent Iranians over the next decade.
The Brussels Journal had a
by France and "Iranian Revolution" (not verified) on Mon Jan 21, 2008 08:48 AM PSTThe Brussels Journal had a great article about the French's involvement in creating the Iranian coup d'etat in 1979. .
Ambassador Freddy Eytan says:
President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing had invited the Shah of Iran as his first official foreign guest, in view of France’s interest in Iranian oil. In 1978, Giscard and his Interior Minister Michel Poniatowski foresaw the collapse of the Shah’s government, which would damage France’s commercial interests.
The proposal was then raised to bring the Ayatollah Khomeini to Algeria. Before, he had been chased from one place to the other. The DST, the French secret service, opposed his entry but Giscard overruled them and granted Khomeini political asylum in France. He stayed in Neauphle le Chateau near Paris. From there, he distributed cassettes to Iran inciting against democracy, peace in the Middle East, the Jews and Israelis. He also called for jihad, a violent holy war. The PLO distributed Khomeini’s cassettes to Iran. When the American embassy in Teheran was attacked in November 1979, PLO members were among the perpetrators. Yasser Arafat was the first official guest in Teheran. He received a popular welcome as a great hero for supporting the Islamic revolution.
Today, we know that Khomeini’s concepts of the Islamic Republic have led to a major expansion of militant Islam. Both Hizbollah and Al Qaeda have their origins in the revolutionary ideas developed in Khomeini’s Iran. The violent speeches in the Iranian mosques and international Islamist terror would not have developed without Khomeini’s stay in France and the publicity he received there. Without Giscard’s hospitality, Khomeini would not have been able to take power in Iran and develop an infrastructure for international propaganda and terrorism.
And is it any wonder that France own almost all of Iran's oil companies...

Ayat-Allah Ruh-Allah Moosavi Khomeini and History
by John Carpenter (not verified) on Mon Jan 21, 2008 05:35 AM PSTLet's face it Khomeini has a lot of Iranian enemies.
Was he better than the Shah?
Yes.
At the Conference of Guadelope, the West came to the conclusion that the Shah no longer had the backing of the majority of the Iranian masses. The west, instead of infuriating Iranians, as the US and UK did in 1953 with the Mossadegh fiasco, washed it's hands of Iran and let the Iranians decide their own fate.
Let us agree, that Iran has been a Shia Muslim country since the time of the Safavid dynasty. Even the Pahlavis accepted this fact by naming all their children Shia Arab names. Reza, abdol Reza, Mohammad Reza, Koorosh Reza. This family was just oozing with Shia Arab name worship. Let us not forget, that Mohammad Reza Pahlavi would visit Imam Reza once a year in Mashad, a ritual that the present Iranian Spiritual leader Ayat-Allah Khamenei does annually. Has anything changed with regards to this love of Shia saints in Iran in over 400 years? No. In 1979, Iranians just chose the Turban over the crown. Same shit different name.
There are some Iranians that say that Iran has become more "Arab" since 1979. Is that true? No. Don't let an idiot let you believe that. Even the Mullahs in Qom believe their Iranian form of theology is superior than the Arab Iraqi form in Najaf. The Iranians were and still are nationalistic.
Iranians are just wierd. They have an identity crisis.
In America, there is freedom of Speech, freedom of expression, freedom of thought.
Even in this site. There are Iranians who want to stop freedom of speech and press.
If you don't like the Monarchy in Iran, all of a sudden you are an agent of Ayat-Allah Khamenei. Is it possible that an Iranian born and raised in America hates Monarchy. In 1776, didn't George Washington tell King George of England to go to "bloody Hell"?
I guess "some" Iranians have selective memory.
I don't have the time nor the patience to educate an idiot.
In the end reason will prevail. And the idiots will perish.
Isn't that what the God of the Iranian Shia masses wants? Only ALLAH knows.
Yours truly,
John William Carpenter III

what islam and islamic leaders have done for and to iran?
by Anonymous666 (not verified) on Sun Jan 20, 2008 06:37 PM PSTby Another Anonymous (not verified) on Tue Jan 01,
"Both shah and IRI deprived iranians of historical truth, for different reasons.
Shah did not allow any material offensive to islam to be taught or published, lest it would provoke mullas.
Mullas do not allow any material offensive to islam to be taught or published since they want to present people with a positive view of islam.
An in-depth study of what islam and islamic leaders have done for and to iran would help a lot in finding our place between religion and national identity. We should know exactly what islamic leaders from Omar to Khomeini did to iranians based on historical facts and truth. That is the only way that we can avoid idealizing or demonizing islam one way or the other. This will be quite ugly from day 1 during Omar, but needs to be done with total objectivity and based on historical data."
