I have seen Andrew Zimmern eat these!

by farrad02 on

The Bizzare Foods host on Food Tv eats lamb, bull and other animals' khayeh all the time!

The edible testicles are playfully called "Mountain Oysters". I have had DONBALAN kabob in Iran. It's delicious and very common by the way!  I also heard that it makes you stupid! Also heard it makes you brave (as the man in video says)  It gives you the extra ooompf to stand up and do what needs to be done! President Khatami should have eaten more DONBALAN!

It has the texture and consistency of scallops but tastes exactly like ground chicken. In fact, if you've had koobideh chicken kabob in an Iranian restaurant, it is very similar to donbalan kabob!

Global Search and Research...

by Abol H Danesh, Sociologist (not verified) on

An interesting book could be written about unusual or awful or bizzare food eaten by people around the world...I assume far east folks score numbero uno by showing off their tiger penis delicacy that apparently has supernatural and mystical power to increase man's masculine prowness by ten fold and sell as much as one thousand dollar in black market in Thailand...

I assume for Andrew, the king of awful food eater , "Donbalan" followed by a shot of vodka is a piece of cake that he would gubble it all up to change the bad taste left in his mouth after eating the earlier awful delicacy food...

Sheep testicles

by Scientist (not verified) on

Throughout history we humans have searched for magic substances to enhance sexual arousal and desire.

All kinds of compounds have been purported to be aphrodisiacs including; rhinoceros horn, the glands of musk deer or beaver, sheep or bull testicles, spanish fly, mandrake root, ginseng, and leumes like chickpeas – according to the Kama Sutra, "If eaten every morning, you will be able to enjoy a hundred women"

But do aphrodisiacs actually work? Can fried lamb’s testicles really make the earth move?

Almost any dish can have aphrodisiac properties in the right circumstances. Fried lamb's testicles – a dish known in the US as Rocky Mountain oysters – proved most acceptable. "But not seductive". Especially when you know how much cholesterol they contain.

Meat contains high levels of the B vitamins as well as Creatine, which increases performances, similar to
anabolic steroids due to their capacity to enhance performance. Sheep testicles were steroids for Ancient Greeks.

Although there are numerous aphrodisiacs available today, there is little substantiating scientific evidence that supports their efficacy. Current research shows that psychopharmacological compounds that stimulate both mind and body will play a significant role in addressing sexual disorders in the future. Not only will this benefit the large number individuals who suffer with some form of sexual dysfunction, it will benefit all those looking for that extra something in their sex lives.

no, not true. it comes from earlier centuries, the idea of strenghthening one organ by eating one.
Just think about eating a monkey brain, and you'll see that it's plain silly.
