jealously
by persian gulf (not verified) on Thu Aug 21, 2008 12:56 AM PDTi was reading ur comments and most of the comments are really bullshit... why do u compare apple with peach !!! i think she is good in what she is doing and thats it... she is not a madonna or as mandana says amir koushkani ( whoever he is ) i am sure he is good in what he is doing but what the hell... maybe most of u are only jealous and would do for less money even other worse things !!
the video is cheesetastic
by notmytaste (not verified) on Mon May 26, 2008 01:04 PM PDTand the singer is a tranny hot mess.
sorry, don't mean to be rude, as Simon Cowell would say!
Topping the chart or the chert?
by Dariush (not verified) on Mon May 26, 2008 09:13 AM PDTShe might be topping the chart in Germany, but she tops the Chert in Iran and for most Iranians.
Obviously Germans don't know music! If that is her voice it is barely OK, but the rest was nothing new or artistic. If she concentrates more on her voice and lyrics she will do better.
I can see why she is hot in
by Anonymous23 (not verified) on Mon May 26, 2008 08:03 AM PDTI can see why she is hot in Germany. Germans love dark skinned girls and guys. She won't do well in the US!
Folks:
by Party Girl on Sun May 25, 2008 10:28 PM PDTBaba Jan, give me a break! I look for things that have to do with Iran and Iranians in all sizes, sexes, fields, settings, faiths, and orientations. Some of them are scientists, some of them are celebrating an occasion, some of them are mourning a hero, some of them dance, some of them sing, and some of them do nothing of significance, but all of them are somehow related to Iran. I don't produce any of the videos, and just as I can't take credit for how good some of them are, I am not to blame for how poor some of the rest are.
To those who think I am to blame sometimes, I say: I am only guilty of loving Iran and Iranians. Please don't shoot the messenger, she really does mean well! Please chill!
FFFFFFGGGRRRRFFF
by Anonymous008 (not verified) on Sun May 25, 2008 09:57 PM PDTWe purchased a satellite dish and receiver a couple of years ago so that my kids could watch Iranian TV to learn etc. but I never watch the Iranian stations and wont let my kids watch it either. The reason is every time I watch Iranian TV I end up having to clean my TV screen because its full of sprayed saliva . Spit from my mouth because I shout profanities at the TV which include the letter F a lot. Every thing from the music to the set to the presentation and subject matter is based on the lowest common denominator.
Watching this video I had to clean my LCD monitor.
In the west to be a Pop music artist you need to be really talented, hungry, hardworking and dedicated.
To be an Iranian Pop singer all that you require is the desire to be one ( because you sing well in mehmoonies) and about $15,000 to produce a music video.
In this case may be about $25,000 and she is not singing in Farsi , but the lack of talent etc is still apparent.
Nice one.....
by Kurdish Warrior (not verified) on Sun May 25, 2008 08:30 PM PDTEventhough the video could've been shot better, as there is no concept to it (perhaps not a very talented DP or Director) I still would give her my thumbs up...
paty girl
by cyrus- (not verified) on Sun May 25, 2008 07:54 PM PDTParty girl :
that website is iranian and i doubt if they tell the truth about her success.
I and others don't need to read from a website to decide whether she is good or not.
We can decide for ourselve. The music is trashy. the lyrics are cheap. her act is sluty.
what else is there that i have not elaborated on ??
Why you all be hating?! :o)
by Natalia Alvarado-Alvarez on Sun May 25, 2008 10:10 PM PDTYou do realize that this artist and song are just meant to be fun. In no way is it a political or religious statement.
Yes, sex sells just about anything in this "World". What a shocker?!
Party Girl keep on Rocking! :o)

Iranian of the Day?? No such day on the calendar. A real Piece Of Trash (POT) instead.
The beat and music is stolen
by Anonymous1 (not verified) on Sun May 25, 2008 04:35 PM PDTThe beat and music is stolen from several other songs. No creativity what so ever.
how the mighty have fallen
by sa (not verified) on Sun May 25, 2008 11:46 AM PDTthat a culture with thousands of years of artistic, scientific and civil rights behind then should be reduced to being "proud" of this, is disheartening. first the mullah's now this.
True Mandana
by urstruly (not verified) on Sun May 25, 2008 11:20 AM PDTYou are right Mandana.
A bit too provocative.
But, I like that she is so dark skin, dark hair, She looks unique and still beautiful.
Hope she has sense to combine some substance in to her life.
But why should there be confusion as to whether she is IRANIAN or ARAB or TURK or anything else. First by her name, EL SAMAH, and then "HABIBI"???
This is why Iranian youths, and even older people can not get a CLEAN BREAK as to defining their IRANIAN-NESS.
El Samah's "Habibi"
by Mandana (not verified) on Sun May 25, 2008 10:30 AM PDTNo doubt, sex sells. Unfortunately, from watching this video I can't tell if the singer has any other talent than being provocative. And what's the message? "I'm hot? Men are crazy for me? I'm a golddigger? I need you to shower me with gold and diamonds?"
Nothing wrong with showing some skin and being sexy, but come on. At least use your feminine charms to be a positive role model. The world can use true leaders right now. Show us the way. Shine your light. Show us how we can make a positive impact in our world. Everything we say and do has a ripple effect. Everyone of us can make a difference. We all have responsibility to this planet.
And I'm all for West-East fusion. It's neat and original, like some of Amir Koushkani's work with symphony orchestras and choirs. That's what I call art and culture. (Yes, I know pop culture has its place and own expression.) Let's show the world what true Pesian is all about. Let's remind the world of "good thoughts, good words, good deeds". Let's make a positive difference.
Elli Alibeik
by Party Girl on Sun May 25, 2008 09:28 AM PDTThis is what I found on her here:

view photo page"Rising Persian Star El Samah (Elli Alibeik) is topping the charts in Germany and taking the Music Video world by storm with her hit single and video "Habibi". The 26 year old Hamburg native has already released her first album and is moving up fast in the European music industry striking an elegant balance of Eastern culture with Western style in her video as well as her music."
