by bijan zahedi (not verified) on Tue Jun 24, 2008 07:00 AM PDTOne of the greatest comic not only made you laugh but also made you think.

Voice of Truth
by Farrokh (not verified) on Mon Jun 23, 2008 04:24 PM PDTMr. carlin truly was a voice of truth in his acts. He was masterfully able to make his addressee laugh about facts he told them. Facts for which they should really have cried...
"let's appreciate Of that ilk....(sorta kinda), Penn & Teller and Bill Maher, Robin Williams...."
I ethusiastically second your proposal, Majid.
Specially amen for Bill Maher...
Great artist
by Saman on Mon Jun 23, 2008 03:26 PM PDTOne of the smartest comics that ever lived. He'd probably joke about his own death if he knew it coming soon. He'll be missed in my house.
What a loss.
by Majid on Mon Jun 23, 2008 03:20 PM PDTRIP Mr. Carlin.
Now let's appreciate Of that ilk....(sorta kinda), Penn & Teller and Bill Maher, Robin Williams...... before too late.
Getting his message
by American Wife (not verified) on Mon Jun 23, 2008 03:08 PM PDTAdmittedly I was just like everyone else my age who liked him because he "said bad words". It was only when I was a little older that I really appreciated WHAT he was saying. Our generation has lost a tremendous voice.
a sad loss
by David ET on Mon Jun 23, 2008 02:44 PM PDT...a SAD loss of a very FUNNY and highly intelligent human being...
May Joe Pesci bless you George

RIP
by A Naani Mousse (not verified) on Mon Jun 23, 2008 01:34 PM PDTNot only was he unbelievably funny and entertaining, he was way ahead of his time. I doubt if many people understood that more often than not the joke was on them, as the same stupidity and ignorance that he was observing in everyday society in his standup act was and still is being practiced by people everyday.
His kind will not be seen again, I'm afraid.
Yes
by Zion on Mon Jun 23, 2008 12:45 PM PDTAs I said, he was at his best talking about these topics.
Zion
by IRANdokht on Mon Jun 23, 2008 12:40 PM PDTAlthough that piece was the one mentioned most whenever someone spoke of Carlin's work, my favorites were the ones he discussed the social issues especially religion and politics. For example We like War and the ten commandments.
He was brilliant.

Funny
by Zion on Mon Jun 23, 2008 12:23 PM PDTSo true! He was great in these areas. Here is another one especially recommended for the uptight censors of this website:
