by sanazi on Fri Aug 29, 2008 12:21 PM PDTAs far as academics go, it is a very good school. The personnel/teachers are also nice (although most of them are hezbollahi, but under no circumstances they would impose their religion on you...religion is not allowed to be taught in T.I.S). I had a very positive experience.
Hope this helps!
What do you think of the school?
by Reza R on Fri Aug 29, 2008 10:13 AM PDTSanazi What do you think of the school? We are thinking of sending our 5 year old son there for the couple of years we are going to be in Iran.

by sanazi on Fri Aug 29, 2008 04:54 AM PDTThey are not wearing their uniforms properly. Once in school, we would take our uniforms off, or roll up the sleeves or just do something with it that would not look like a uniform. And at T.I.S. we didnt even have to waer maghna'eh or whatever it's called (it's a strict head-scarf) THANK GOD FOR THAT!!! We were allowed to wear a loose scarf (Iranian style), and we also took that off once in school. At least that's the way it was when I was there, but it doesnt look like much has changed.
Sanazi what about the uniform..seems too trendy

onion: this is Tehran
by sanazi on Thu Aug 28, 2008 08:31 AM PDTThis is Tehran International School (T.I.S.). All the classrooms at T.I.S. look like the one in the clip. ALL OF THEM without exception. All the classrooms have that podium (platform) in front of the black board. Also, the kids at T.I.S. are ALL nutty, ALL OF THEM.
p.s. I graduated from that school. This clip brought back so many memories. Thanks for posting it!
It is Tehran

by skatermom (not verified) on Wed Aug 27, 2008 04:28 PM PDTOh my god that was cute. My son drives me insane with that song and dance. I think I'm just secretly jealous. Goes to show how the IRI can't censor even the newest music from getting to the Iranian youth. I love it.
