Idolatrous!?!?!?!?!?!?!

by ThePope on

Remember the old "early years of the revolution"? When suddenly, everything became gheir-e eslami or zed-e eslam!! The stupid mullahs declared anything that's statuary and/or sculpting statues is idolatrous and of course illegal!!! Unfortunately, this was the case untill the very late 90s. And it was the same situation with a lot of other activities, games(ex:backgammon), sports (ex:boxing) and so on...

Poor Persian sculpters, who after thousands of years, generation after gneration, had to halt all sculpting activity until they, the mullahs regime, became a little bit more "open mined". It tooked them 20 long years for simple freedom, like arts and crafts!

Anyway, nice statue of our famous Kamangir. And happy to see the I.R with less problem toward our non-islamic culture, Persia and its good old history, traditions, legends and heroic figures.
