I went to this wedding!
by Shirni (not verified) on Thu Mar 12, 2009 09:16 AM PDTI actually know both Shaden and Mahdi and I attended their wedding, which I can say was the most beautiful wedding I have seen in all of my 53 years of life(and it did have fireworks at the end). They are a very lovely couple that have been together for 7+ years (I think since highschool). Yes they had a lavish wedding but it was 2 years ago before the economy went to crap. Mahdi works day and night while shaden has 4 jobs, they just bought their first house (they had me over for thanksgiving which was another beautiful event).
On a side note I know both of them personally, neither of them are snobby nor "living off their parents like most Iranian children nowadays" and Shaden is constantly working on community service stuff especially for the poor Palestinians who are being murdered every day. Also from what I heard everyone pitched in for this wedding, from all 4 parents (I know Mahdi's parents are divorced) to the bride and groom themselves. People stop hatting and be happy for them, I am!
Ps they have a wedding website with a story about them, videos and pictures: www.Rofougaran.info (check out their first dance, which fooled everyone and was the best part of the wedding)!

by Ensaan (not verified) on Wed Nov 05, 2008 08:32 PM PSTSome day, when humans grow enough mentally to deserve their name "Human", they might marry only in their hearts, spend on charity and affect others by their generousity instead of their luxury. Till then... Cobgratulations.
It's vain but so what? He helped the economy
by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on Wed Nov 05, 2008 07:46 AM PSTI'm sure all the bakers and cooks and florists are grateful.
It's their money and they can spend it how they like. Why are Iranians so critical? Although I think it's kind of funny to put it on youtube. Times are a CHANGING! Weddings are a beautiful thing and it's not like they put a sex tape on youtube. Stop being so negative.

People, People!
by Party Girl on Tue Nov 04, 2008 08:12 PM PSTIt is a spectacular wedding and it is a beautiful wedding. It is the union of two people who not only love each other, they love each other's families and friends, now one big family and one big beautiful set of friends. Go and look at the series of clips so that you can see what I'm talking about here.
People celebrate their joys in many different ways, some simple and austere, and some lavish and spectacular. If there is love and respect in the heart of that celebration, we should join the party and wish well and the best for them. This was one party I am sorry to have missed! I could have joined those professional dancers you can see in one of the several clips! O.K. Maybe I can't dance as well as they do, but I could have tried!
I wish this couple the very best of everything in life. Congratulations!
what was this? photo

KouroshS you silly crackhead you
by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on Tue Nov 04, 2008 06:34 PM PSTWhat is so lavish about this? I mean, there are obviously no fireworks, elephant rides or moonbounces. It's so average.... puh.....
KIDDING>
The economy is in the toilet/sewer/craphole and this man has provided this lavish wedding. He obviously loves her A LOT.....a straight man putting Alladin to his name on youtube. PROPS TO YOU MAN!!!
The number of guests, the lavish hotel and that's just the beginning. They obviously spent a lot of money and they look like they are in love and most of all HAD A FUN DAY!
Good for them that they can afford it and enjoy it. Most people are just going to city hall these days.
Finally - can this girl be any cuter and skinnier? So cute cute cute.

What was so Spactacular about this wedding? Maybe you should have included some numbers in there so we at least know what aspect of the wedding so out of the ordinary.
