Incredible Performance!
by Hamid Mansouri, M.D. (not verified) on Sun Aug 10, 2008 09:35 AM PDTI assume these ladies are extremely talented and could well represent and old country where art and artists have always been praised and adored.Persia has always been the cradle of art.
These ladies have to perform more often, performing all over the world.
Unfortunately they are quite unknown to the majority of the Iranians living outside Iran!
Let the whole world see, enjoy and appreciate these talents and the Persian glory...
Bravo! And imagine
by Miz-abdol-azim khaneh Ghareeb (not verified) on Mon Feb 11, 2008 09:09 AM PSTGreat performance and excellent representaiton of Quanon instrument. Now imagine if god will we close the British embassy and all their consulates someday and how freely and wonderfully will only then our women revive and help our men to understand how to go through life without their prejudices.
Amen!
Our success is pending on these:
1) Close the British Embassy and make the embassy a city park
2) Ban men from singing (LOOOL, I love that idea).
Wonderful performance by wonderful Iranian women

bravo to these ladies
by Anonymous23434 (not verified) on Sun Feb 10, 2008 08:49 PM PSTFirst, it does not serve any purpose to say shame on this or that, but, you need to remember, Iranian men, like other men, have it easier, compared to women. From childhood, more opputunities are provided to them by family and also society. So, it has never been a level playing field, as a result, it is much harder for women to overcome obstacles and accomplish something.
Excellent
by Anonymous4 (not verified) on Sun Feb 10, 2008 07:46 PM PSTThe performance is excellent. No doubt.
However, for thousands of years, many Iranian men have done great things and nobody has said shame on Iranian women. How come nowadays, when ever Iranian women do something great, everybody says shame on Iranian men?
PERFECT !!

Impeccable Performance
by Jesus (not verified) on Sun Feb 10, 2008 12:57 AM PSTThis was extremely inspirational, and beautifully done. What a contrast to the junk we get from the Tehrangeles so called "artists".
At the risk of making this thread into something political, I have to admit that as an Iranian men, I am ashamed of the Iranian men. I have repeatedly stated on this website that Iranian society has become a degenerate society. What I have failed to add to that statement is that only half of that is true. Iranian men have become total degenerates. With all the hardships, including getting stoned to death, Iranian women not only have survived, but keeping the Iranian spirit, and banner alive.
Iranian men selling their daughters to the arab sheikdoms, remaining silent as IR's brutal, and apartheid machine wages war against Iranian women is a true sign of degeneracy. Iranian women have excelled in just about all the fields, including science and engineering against all odds.
This performance was nothing short of perfection. Congratulations to the director of the group, and to all of them.
Iranian women are always the best ... in everything!

by ZebelTheRebel (not verified) on Sat Feb 09, 2008 12:16 PM PST...for the hints and links!
I enjoyed watching the videos. But again it's hard to listen to Hafez and not become mesmerized. Singer be it Parisa or Naamjoo!
I hope Iranian women get the opportunity to purse arts without unduly burdens rooted in ignorance!
"ZebelTheRebel"
by Anonymous3 (not verified) on Sat Feb 09, 2008 11:45 AM PSTThis group has done a good job. Talking about traditional Persian vocalist is reminding me of Parisa. She is a distinguished traditional Persian woman vocalist, and have had great performances in Takhteh Jamshid side by side with Shajarian. Unfortunately the revolution, appearance of Mullahs, and being a woman gradually pushed her to be less and less active.

Inspiring but...
by ZebelTheRebel (not verified) on Sat Feb 09, 2008 10:21 AM PSTA far cry from our traditional Persian male
artists like of Nazer and Shajarian.
...and that idiot who think anything that sounds
Farsi is a promotion for IRI! Get a life..but first get a brain!
As much as I love Rumi I am in awe what is with
surge of Rumi popularity around the world?!
I know world is looking for spirituality, but nnowadays everyone talks Rumi. Not to mention everyone claim him be it Afghans, Turks, Tajiks....
Could one of erudite readers enlighten me on the what basis we can cliam Rumi of our own? Not that it matters much but just for the heck of it.
May be redWine who is into history can chime in...
In short we are proud that world has come back to us for "meaning" and "soul searching". It's about time with all these bad publicities going around from politics to movies and rest...
Amazing
by David ET on Sat Feb 09, 2008 08:48 AM PSTlooking forward to watching the whole performance.Thank you.

It is hard to be a female musician
by Musician (not verified) on Fri Feb 08, 2008 06:47 PM PSTImagine how hard it is to be a male musician in Iran, now imagine how hard it should be to be a female musician. These young ladies have gone through a lot to get to where we see them today. I hope Iranian nation come to appreciate her new talents more, wherever they may be.
