They are delicious! Kinda like muffins but the taste is very differnet.
Cake Yazdi?
by Jahanshah Javid on Sun May 25, 2008 02:12 PM PDTYou may be right Party Girl. But in all my 46 years, I have never bought or been offered cake Yazdi. I don't even know what it tastes or looks like! So cake Yazdi may very well be more authentic and original, but in urban areas the Rollette is more popular? Not sure...
I beg to differ!
by Party Girl on Sun May 25, 2008 10:41 AM PDTThe national cake of Iran is Cake-e-Yazdi. It does not require refrigeration to keep and as a result is presented in all rural and urban bakeshops all over Iran. Roulette and any other confection that requires fresh cream as an ingredient, are confections which were acquired after European style of baking entered Iran. Cake-e-Yazdi is the authentic and original item. That's what I think.
