A big "fat resume" is not required for her but it is for Obama?

If I were Joe Biden I would let my maid to have the honor of winning a debate with her!

Alaska is near Russia?

by Poirot on

Whoa! What experience, you can see it in the way she answers, very confidant.

I think we should keep the pit-bull and her lipstick where they belong “OUTISIDE“.

Do any of you Palin supporters realize the economical and foreign relations background the next president and vice president will need to fix this dwindling economy and Palin unlike what she says supported every pork barrel spending that came her way as governor until they stopped being popular and not beneficial for her political ambitions , but somehow her credentials which include being the nearest state to Russia inexplicably are more valued than that of Joe Biden’s who alone has served this country as a senator for over 35 years, and has the experience we need .H e has served and chaired in the following:

Committee on Foreign Relations (chairman)

As chairman of the full committee Biden is an ex officio member of each subcommittee.

Committee on the Judiciary

Subcommittee on Antitrust Competition Policy and Consumer Rights

Subcommittee on Crime and Drugs (chairman)

Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Law

Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security, and Refugees

Subcommittee on Technology Terrorism and Homeland Security

Caucus on International Narcotics Control (co-chairman)

Major hillary supporter came out for Palin

by Anonymous on

Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee's platform committee Lynn Forester de Rothschild will endorse John McCain today.

Rothschild was a "Hillraiser" for Clinton, scaring up at least $100,000 for Hillary and she has called Obama "arrogant," unable to connect with regular Americans, and "elitist."

Sarah Palin faced Charlie Gibson and failed, but Obama faced Bill O'Reilly and Bill O was so impressed with him that he actually commented very positively about it to his fellow right-wingers.

Could Obama answer those questions?

by Anonymous on

Obama can hardly talk without his TelePrompTers.

I am still waiting someone from the media to ask him tough questions.

What are Obama's accomplishments as community organizer?

What did Obama do in Illinois senate for 3 years?

Has Obama done anything in the US Senate before he start running for the presidency?

these are the questions that Obama himself could not answer in his books...go figure!

Ms IranDokht and Mr Khar!

by Free Thinker (not verified) on

IranDokht, let me see if I understood you correctly:

"To support someone despite others, is no way of thinking "freely" "

Wow!! Are these your original words or did you copy them from somewhere? Because if the are yours, you must have them copy-protected, lest they may be used by plaigiarists.

So by your logic, when millions of Iranians were supporting Khomeini, back in 1979, a thinker and patriot by the name of Dr Bakhtiar, who opposed Khomeini must have been, a non-free thinker!!

And those like, Bazargan, Jebhe Melli, Tudeh party, and so on, were free thinkers? They were going along with "others" weren't they? :))

And on to you dear Khar,

You can't be selective in a democracy. The same electorate who deomcratically elected Bush-Quayle and rejected Dukakis-BentSon (happy now?) can elect MaCain-Palin in place of Obama-Biden. If you can't take it, there is answer to it: TOUGH! :0)

McCain and Palin will win...

by A Trus Iranian-American (not verified) on

John McCain and Sarah Palin are the right leaders to stand up against the Islamic terrorists and the terrorist states. McCain and Palin will continue the Bush doctrine to bring down the criminal regime of the Islamic Republic once and for all and their supporters.

God Bless America

Do not allow other people's views  to sway your way of thinking, be a free thinker: watch and listen and make up your own mind according to the information and facts that you gather.

To support someone despite others, is no way of thinking "freely"

Khar

"Free Thinker"?

by Khar on

If your measuring stick for choosing the VP is Dan Quayle, perhaps you deserve Palin too and another 4 years same as the past 8. Perhaps you need to remember that Bush Daddy/Quayle were only one termers. Same is will be true for McLies/Palin. BTW it was Lloyd Bentsen not Benton.

1988 VP Debate:

Quayle: Three times that I've had this question — and I will try to answer it again for you, as clearly as I can, because the question you are asking is, "What kind of qualifications does Dan Quayle have to be president," "What kind of qualifications do I have," and "What would I do in this kind of a situation?" And what would I do in this situation? [...] I have far more experience than many others that sought the office of vice president of this country. I have as much experience in the Congress as Jack Kennedy did when he sought the presidency. I will be prepared to deal with the people in the Bush administration, if that unfortunate event would ever occur.

Judy Woodruff: Senator [Bentsen]?

Bentsen: Senator, I served with Jack Kennedy: I knew Jack Kennedy; Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy.

people like Q, Irandokht, Abarmard, and the rest of the anti Palin fraternity or sorority, if you prefer, the more I am convicned that SHE IS THE RIGHT CHOICE.

This question of "experience" and particularly "foreign experience" is irrelevant as how much experience did Dan Quayle brought on board as the VP to Bush seniorand yet he and George Bush Senior brushed aside a seemingly more qualified and exprienced Lloyd Benton (VP to Dukakis).

Palin is already making Obama sweat with apprenhension! So do the Obamite lobby :)

She is very smart

by Zion on

She came about as very resilient and confident in this interview. Obama and the democrats must be afraid. I gather they are and that is what is behind this rage we are seeing. The interviewer's attitude was insulting. It's a shame. Funny how we see nothing even remotely similar to this attitude vis a vis Obama in this round of elections.

The ugly choice

by Qioumars on

Palin is a true repugnican hack choice. Abuse of power as mayor, as governer, troopergate, babygate, dairygate, the list goes on and on. There isn't any fear from the Democratic side; they haven't invented these scandals or past history of Palin. This is what McCranky brought before the national stage, a shallow shady power hunger lunatic.
Do you really think an avid pro-lifer, NRA, creationist, religious nutcase (check her pastor and church history), whose family values are already shot to pieces by her own actions of dragging her daughter into political scandal for expediency of career.
It isn't Democratics who are at all afraid, it is more and more the repugnicans who are afraid, realising how disastrous McCranky has been with this vacuous VP choice.

One more proof why women can't and shouldn't hold important positions.

Among other reasons: PMS, lesser intelligence, too emotional, more PMS, etc.

Just look at her face in the video! Do you really want this PMS-prone woman to be your president in a moment of crisis while she is going through her PMS?

To Palin: Stay home and cook. It's nature's command.

By the way, BBC analyst described Palin's interview as successful.

Besides, she can't be worse than the goons or as Mr. Kadivar called them, under a different blog, a bunch of "Chaghu kesh" with fake doctoral degrees, controlling Iran.

Sarah Palin is confused

by John Carpenter III (not verified) on

The term "Islamic extremist" is incorrect. It is a racist/xenophobic term.

Usama Bin Laden was trained by the USA to fight the USSR.

Saudi Arabia stripped Usama of Saudi citizenship.

No muslim country has given Usama citizenship.

If you ask me, the term for these individuals who committed the crimes of September 11th should be called, "criminals".

Her comments on Iran are ignorant. Israel is in no position to attack Iran. As of recent, Israel has set free Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Lebanese Hizb'Allah members.

Israel is ready to make peace with anyone and everyone. Shimon Peres had said recently that an attack on Iran is a bad idea.

After 8 years, the only thing the Bush Administration has did is make the Islamic Republic stronger. When Clinton was President Iran was going through reform with Khatami.

Bush ushered in the Presidency of Ahmadinejad. President Bush has permitted Ahmadinejad to visit the US several times. It was this same Republican party that made a back room deal with the IRI to delay the freedom of American hostages in order to disgrace President Carter. It is the same Republican party that gave arms to Iran during the Iran-Contra Affair. It is the same republican party that put into power Pro-Khamenei Afghan President Karzai and Pro-Khamenei Iraqi Prime Minister Al-Maliki. It is high time that people understand, if there is a current injustice in Iran it is due to the US Republican party. Let us not forget, it was US Republican President Eisenhower who removed Mossadegh from power in the 1950s. In the span of more than 60 years, the Republican party has never done an ounce of good for the average Iranian.
Sarah Palin believes "God" is talking to her. Maybe, she should move to Qom and become an Ayat'Allah. The Bill of Rights states that church and state should be seperate. Maybe, she is unaware of the Bill of Rights.
She has never met a foreign diplomat. She said that experience is not necessary. If that is so, the McCain's argument of Obama's experience is wrong.
Republicans live a contradiction.
Watch Fox News. They will blame illegal immigrants, liberal women, minorities and everone else for the domestic problems of the US. One can conclude, the conservative republicans don't like anyone. I don't believe they even like themselves.
Any idiot that votes Republican in November has literally committed treason against the Bill of Rights and anything that could possibly be logical.

Iranian Muslim

America Deserves

by Iranian Muslim on

America needs and deserves competent political leaders. Ms. Palin is illiterate when it comes to international affairs. This doesn't make her stupid or evil, but it does mean she will not be able to make independent foreign policy judgements based on her own knowledge.

Both Biden and Obama, regardless of how one feels about their politics, are plugged in on foreign relations. Both, and especially Biden, can speak with precision on issues like the Georgia conflict, Iran, and Afghanistan.

I think Palin would make a nice friend, and maybe even a good Governor. But she is unqualified to be vice president of the most powerful country in the world.

News Goffer

The Unforeseen Perils of Palin

by News Goffer on

I don't believe Sarah Palin is a poor choice for the position, because she shares so much in values and thinking with the leaders of GOP, and they have obviously reached agreement and consensus over her nomination.  They obviously don't expect her to know a lot or to have had a lot of experience, more or less what they expected of George W.

The problem is that the decision was made too late, not giving her enough time to do any kind of reading or to be properly "groomed" during the campaign. This late in the competition, the likes of what happened with last night's interview will happen more frequently and with more disastrous results.

She didn't know what the Bush doctrine was, she didn't admit it, and she tried to ad lib and improvise an answer regarding a doctrine which has had devastating results on humanity and world politics. Let's forget where she was as a gubernatorial candidate and politician, and the fact that she doesn't know her own party's President's most profound political decision.  How could she begin to prepare for this campaign? How many days are left before the Elections? How many books and articles and essays and briefs can she read in that time to prepare her for the job?

Yeah, yeah, I know, George Bush was in the White House for 8 years without reading anything, but the world he is delivering to McCain/Palin is such a different world than the one he and Cheney received from Clinton/Gore, wouldn't you say? The more Sarah Palin tries to appear as the cool and unflappable politician with quick one-liners, the higher her chances of putting her foot in her mouth sooner than later.

My only fear and regret is that when she falls, she might take "women of America" with her, delaying another female nomination on the Presidential ticket for years to come.

what is Islamic terrorist?

by Amir Nasiri (not verified) on

Please someone help her to differentiate between the nouns and subjects.

Islam is the religion and Muslims are the followers of that religion.

She should say that the Muslim extremist that conduct terrorism.

And please someone teach me what is the meaning Islamic fascism.

We have fanatics in all religions, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Sikh and etc.

Crazy nuts people are all over.

Actually if one does is homework in USA more Americans have been under attack and terrorism by Christian Fanatics than any other religion.

David Korash
Timothy Macweight
Unibomber
all the school shootings (happening almost every year)

In USA, every 30 seconds someone is shot, every 3 minutes someone is raped and list goes on. Most these criminal activities happen by US citizens.

My point is that we need to focus more on bringing safety and security here in our own neighborhood.
