Royal parties have their own
by stephens on Thu Aug 13, 2009 04:17 AM PDTRoyal parties have their own taste and looks entirely different from the normal parties. They use expensive party goods and other expensive things that differ their parties from ours. Their parties are so delightful and colorful that one can even think about it.

The Pahlavis stole 70 million Iranians money
by John Carpenter III (not verified) on Mon Apr 28, 2008 10:22 AM PDTThe Pahlavis by January 1979 when they fled the country had sent a lot of Iran's money overseas.
In January 1979 there was major unrest in Iran. The majority of Iranians hated the Pahlavis.
The Googoosh party was an example of the money the Pahlavis wasted on themselves.
The Pahlavis were villagers from Mazandaran. Reza Pahlavi was uneducated. His son, Mohammad Reza had little education.
Both Pahlavis were dictators.
Googoosh attended this party because she was forced to do so.
After the Revolution, Googoosh also attended a lot of parties that were given by Shia Muslim Priests wives. They call those parties "sof-rehs" in Iran.
Googoosh was given permission to leave Iran by Ayat'Allah Khamenei. Googoosh then went to the US and made a lot of money in Southern California and Las Vegas. Who knows where that money went. And then Googoosh became friends with Mehrdad, a singer who looks like a gorilla and can't sing for his life. For all we know, Mehrdad can be connected to the Iranian intelligence agency, "dastgah ettela'at". Who knows where the profits from the concerts are going. They could be going to an office in Qom.
Let us not forget that Ayat'Allah Khamenei and Googoosh are Azari Iranians. Farah Diba is also a Azari Iranian.
This all seems like one big conspiracy.
By the way, the Mohammad Reza Pahlavi children have lived most of their lives in the US without having a job. That is almost 30 years without a job.
One has to ask Reza Pahlavi, who lives in Maryland, "Where did you get the money to live in the US for about 30 years without having a job?"

why should anyone be admired? and for lack of substance. seems like you would be another person who would kiss reza's hand. sad mentality.
there is a reason for iranian.com's logo. think about it. everyone. we would be in a lot less mess if everyone thought that--that applies to the current regime as well--NOT sacred.
Hasan & Dokhtare Irooni
by Anonymouss (not verified) on Thu Apr 24, 2008 10:02 AM PDTWhat are you talking about? This is the humblest party that I have seen for a royal or ruling class family anywhere. They sure could use a larger room instead of being jammed in a small place. And where are their glamor and jewelry that you are talking about. You may be living in the west but must be coming from Darfur or Biafra.
Sharing wealth with people? You must be joking. Only people with full bellies had free time on their hands to revolt to bring in a gang of lying thieves like islamic republic. On the contrary, people today are so busy with making a living that do not have any time left to worry about atrocities of the islamic republic. With oil revenues a tenth of what it is today (yes one tenth) iran under shah had free education for all (which we do not have anymore), free meals for school children (which we do not have any more), free Sepahe Behdasht, built refineries, steel mill, nuclear reactor (which mullas could not even finish), roads, dams, car assemblies, helicopter manufacturing, and on and on; and iran had budget surplus invested in foreign company shares. Wonder what happened to all of it. Hint: look for it in mullas' assets and lebanese fanatics' supplies.
If shah was such a thief and an empty person, how did iran do all that, all done between 1963 and 1979, in only 16 years, far more than what IRI could do in 30 years with 10 times more oil revenue, except for a war of distraction that they brought upon iran and iranians.

by Anonymesam (not verified) on Thu Apr 24, 2008 07:22 AM PDTmazyar said: Have you lost any of your relatives in the prisons of the great Aryan King?! Even thinking of the corrupt Pahlavi dynasty makes me throw up!
Fortunately, I did not lose any of my relatives in previous regime's prisons. But guess why? Because those who were in shah's prisons, mostly survived to be amongst the worst criminals of iranian history, likes of rafsanjani, khamenei, and an endless array of leftists. Did you want them to be free so they could bring misery on iranians even sooner?
Now if you throw up with the name of pahlavis, then what would you do when you think of mullas and what they did to iran and iranians in the past 30 years?
Whatever shah was and whatever shortcomings he had, he was an angel compared to khomeini who replaced him by deceiving people in so many ways, lying to them, and delivering nothing in return except for screaming for arab interests for 30 years. Islamists, who ganged up with khomeini only to kill tens of thousands of iranian youth and plunder a trillion dollar of oil revenue with iranian lives more miserable than ever, are struggling to hide their ugly deeds under the cover of unending propaganda against the shah to justify their own misdeeds. Shah's alleged crimes were super minor petty crimes compared to those of the islamic republic.
As for hand-kissing and all of those irrelevant non-sense; well you must be so unaware of what people do for that ugly khamenei today. Not only they kiss his hands and shoulders, they eat his left-over food from his dirty plate to show their commitment to him.
Payandeh iran, an iran cleansed of any ideology, religious or otherwise.

Royal party with Googoosh
by Hasan (not verified) on Thu Apr 24, 2008 01:22 AM PDTWhat a simple and sweet party. In comparison to any royal family around the world, this was simply the most humble birthday party you could imagine. So, why did people got rid of them?, the answer is because they failed to share their life with the rest of Iranians, they isolated themselves and gave opportunity to their enemies to show them different to what they were. They could have survived hundreds of yeras only if they would have shared their life with the rest of the country. Sad, isn't it?.

Oh Majid,
Why does this make you think it has the power to shad our "del's" ? And if it does, what's the problem. There is nothing wrong with seeing this, and enjoying it...or even wanting to celebrate the fact that it even existed. Or be sad by the fact that our government does not bring us the same level of social rights. The reason people get happy is because it takes them back to a time and a place that were wonderful for them. They didn't know then, what they know now. And don't get upset by people either being this way (Constitutional Monarchist) or Islamists...it's our history. We don't need to follow the patterns of other "empires". We have our own history. It it evolve.

Also, I can't get over the look on Reza's face as the old man kisses his hand. That man looks like he is 60+ years older than him! I'm put off by all this hand-kissing stuff but if anyone should be kissing the other's hand it should be the teenage kid kissing the old man's.

When can the people of Iran celebrate an Iran ruled by the people?
Islamists are ganging up again...
by Setiz (not verified) on Wed Apr 23, 2008 06:32 PM PDTagainst that best days of iran for majority of iranians in the past 100 years.
Nobody is perfect and neither was the shah nor any other ruler of any other country, even western democracies. But he was infinitely better than any mulla by any objective measure. Amongst them:
Mullas have been killing more people since 1979 than shah did in his entire regime (less than 400, directly and indirectly, including in armed confrontations). The head mulla, khomeini, killed as many in a single day in 1988 than shah killed in his entire regime (reference: emad baghi's writings).
Iranians' per capita income was $2400 in 1979, or about $7200 in today's dollar. Iranian per capita income is expected to be around $1000 in 2008.
Total iranian revenue from oil for all years before 1979 was $110 billion, or about $330 billion in today's dollar. This is the total cumulative for all years prior to 1979. Iranian oil revenue for 2008 only is expected to excees $110 billion.
Now who was a better choice for iran?
Reza is very bright

We don't deserve this or do we?!
by A Hakkak (not verified) on Wed Apr 23, 2008 05:28 PM PDTFrom Ahmadinejad to Mossadegh, all of our "azadikhahan" have always piggybacked on akhoonds (or at least tried to do so).
Pahlavis are the only ones that despite all of their shortcomings (debatable) have a secular and modern vision.
Now the biggest problem lies in the type of modernity we Iranians want. We (collective Iranian soul...if there is one) wants to ride a BMW but have rozeye abolfazl on ashoora-tasooa, drive his/her Mercedes to distribute ashe nazri, get a degree from MIT to be able to marry a rich spouse,.....become a marxist when it's hip and a revolutionary when it's the trend, nag about jomhoori eslami but be glad that our daughter won't dare to go to a party possibly withe her boyfriend (yeah right!).
Pahlavis' vision was different and their definition of modernity was more genuine.
The good news is there's a large number of young girls and boys growing up in Iran that might (just might) grow a more different regime. So let's just totally forget about the big fat oldies and keep our fingers crossed for the future generations.
One other "bad" habit we Iranians have is we use every single fucking opportunity we find to re-iterate our worn-out political agenda (exactly like I'm doing here!!!!)...what the fuck dudes the poor guy is having a blast listening to Googoosh. We've all done that many times in our lives while listening to Googoosh!!!
