An excellent find, if I may say so myself! Read her story.
Her Wikipedia page. And a clip of her telling her success story as an entrepreuner:
And this great profile on her, is unfortunately not embeddable:

by Ali P. on Sun Oct 05, 2008 10:07 AM PDT"You make these silly comments toward a woman who you have not met...".
Are you sure you read MY comment? I am Ali P. ( not to be confused with Al IP, or A LIP )
You must have misunderstood me, dear friend.
Please read my initial comment again.
Now if all the other Iranian women ( and I do not know if you are one, or respesent any of them) came forward and had a bone to pick with me, THAT, I could understand ( and I hope they won't, because most of them on this site, who know me to certain extend, know I don't wish ill towards anyone, and they know when I am joking).
If anything, I complimented her on having no accent, ( AND, interestingly enough)no chip on the shoulder, no attitude, and no ego.
May God bless us all..
Respectfully,
Ali P.
She's the embodiment
by Jaleho on Sun Oct 05, 2008 08:36 AM PDTShe's the embodiment of "a spoon full of sugar.... and its spirit, making the medicine go down :-)
Thanks for selecting a real good Iranian woman as Iranian of the day for a change. I was getting used to the fact that Iranian.com ignores all the fantastic Iranian women inside Iran, and from myriad of respectable Iranian women outside of Iran, they put their emphasis on either entertaining half-sluts, or women who became important becasue they had a wedding in Israel or something like that, or losers who somehow reflect an anti-IRI value which Iranian.com respects and promotes!
fiesty schoolgirl
by Nazanin Yazdi (not verified) on Sun Oct 05, 2008 08:24 AM PDTI have known Sahar and her brother Babak, aka Bobby, during our schoold days in Tehran's Iranzamin school.
Sahar was two years younger than me, but even as a schoolgirl in 5th grade, she was mighty fiesty. I would see her in the schoolyard every now and then gathering her friends and she would be the one in the center of attention.
Good for her. Power to her and Bobby for having made it. Granted, the main share of Coffee Republic is now sold and is the brother-sister group act as contultants to the new CEO.
This project for them meant so much that Bobby left his high-rolling job in wall street to help Sahar with this idea.
I wish there were more girls/women like her.
Forget about the accent, nose job, blonde hair...(actually come to think of it she was not a very dark-haired girl in school). Pay attention to what she actually did.

by Milia adjuri (not verified) on Sun Oct 05, 2008 07:44 AM PDTYou make these silly comments toward a woman who you have not met and now you asked for apology? Why did you make that comment in the first place? I am a successful career minded woman and I was about to share my success here at this web site but I am astonished as what kind of person like you got the stomach to make uneducated guess toward us! You do not understand how hard we work to compete in the business world. Just think about this:Always commit yourself to constant improvement, but strive for excellence, not perfection!
Don't hate me because I am Ali P.

by Party Girl on Sat Oct 04, 2008 03:01 PM PDTGot it! Sorry for being dense!
I never gave in to the "nose job" temptation, but I have seen entirely too many women around myself who did. I didn't do it not because of high morals (!), but more out of cowardice and fear of pain! Ha Ha, do you suppose with enough nose jobs done generation after generation, iranian noses will be genetically corrected and refined one day, eliminating the need for nose jobs?!! You don't need to answer that! Enough about noses, this post is not about noses, it's about a remarkable woman.
Peace and party on!

by Princess on Sat Oct 04, 2008 02:44 PM PDTThe comment about the nose job was in response to Ali P's doubt if this lady was Iranian. Whether we like it or not, unfortuantely nowadays a nose job has become a common feature of Iranian women. I've already said what I think of this lady. She is an inspiration and good luck t her.
Friends, Friends!
by Party Girl on Sat Oct 04, 2008 02:31 PM PDTLike Irandokht, I'm really impressed by Ms. Hashemi and her achievements. Good for her and good for us, for she seems perfectly at ease talking about her Iranian origin and identity.
Ali P. No hate mail this time, but I hope you stop pushing your luck! It's so much easier to like you than not! The "chip on the shoulder" thing was not fair and you know it, too!
Really pleased!
by Anonymous77 (not verified) on Sat Oct 04, 2008 02:20 PM PDTI love her definition of "success".
You see, I don't earn that much but I really love doing what I do. Obviously I don't make as much money as many others, but I am very happy with what I do.
It's been a two year dreadful struggle before the first break, but it happened and I can now just live my dream life.
Thank you for the video. It's inspirational and comforting
OK. you either think a nose
by Princess on Sat Oct 04, 2008 01:48 PM PDTOK. you either think a nose job is a good thing or a bad thing. If you think it's a good thing, then my comment should in no way have been viewed as a put down. However, if you don't consider it to be such a good thing, then please stop being so hypocritical. All I did, was state a fact.
Having said all that, I have no negative comments to make about this lady and her achievements. I am sure she is making all of us proud with her brain, as well as personality and I wish her all the best!
Iranian women
by IRANdokht on Sat Oct 04, 2008 11:09 AM PDTIranian women have proven themselves to be courageous, resiliant, determined and very capable despite all the criticism, discouraging attitude and the put-downs they face in the society.
This mockery and negative perception is expected. Iranian women are used to it and have learned to brush it off as nonsense and continue to excel.
Thanks Party girl! it's good to know about such a strong and successful lady.

Stop being Jealous!
by JealousBuster (not verified) on Sat Oct 04, 2008 10:03 AM PDTShe is beautiful, smart and successful. She also seems funny and unpretentious.
Aspire to be like her (and better) instead of putting her down. Your jealousy doesn't reduce her but it does you!
come on guys
by iranian man (not verified) on Sat Oct 04, 2008 10:00 AM PDThey guys, it is all about business and she has to do whatever it takes to promote her business. that means color of hair, accent, plastic surgery and....bal blah. all the hollywood stars have frequent surgeries and that is called business. Would you like to see my katchal head or a cute pleasant face? :)
Sad to see
by choghok on Sat Oct 04, 2008 08:20 AM PDTIt is sad to see that the only comments made about her is rediculing Iranian women or her personally.
Is it because of jealousy or what? Why should we care if she has colored her hair or her nose job? If that is the only thing you think about when you watch this clip then I feel sorry for you.
P.S I do work for a big company and I beg to differ with her. In a big company they do not want people with entrepeanurship or good creativity. The bosses just wants the things to be done and take no risk. They want their bonus and that is that.

No accent?!
by ID specialist (not verified) on Sat Oct 04, 2008 01:28 AM PDTMy dear Ali,
You know so little about Iranian identity. You can tell who is or isn't Iranian by just listening to that nervous, jerky, twists and truns in their way of speech. This lady is more Iranian than Faezeh Rafsanjani!! Evidence:
1. She has dyed her hair blond (as Hadi Khorsandi used to say: You can tell Iranian women by the color of their hair!)
2. She has had a nose job
3. She has dark eyes (English woman with blond hair and dark eyes? - you must be kidding!)
3. Her brother's name is Bobby :))
AND
4. She has a fake British accent peppered with frequent Iranian give-aways
PLUS
5. She repeats some words (Entreprenuer is only one) 50 times within a minute! - I can see why she wasn't a successful lawyer (solicitor).
Come, come, dear boy - Iranian is written all over her!
By the way, this was not a hate mail - it was a hate male ;)
Hmmm...
