Is this movie available on dvd? And is it subtitled for my American husband? It looks like a hoot. As for bandendazoon. I did it in modern America. Not as a cultural ritual but out of pure necessity. Sorry folks nair just doesn't do the trick. My American bridesmaids thought it was great. As a result they've sworn off fancy waxing and will only go to someone who can thread.

Majority of Iranian movies and TV shows are not that good

There are few exceptions like; Turtles Can Fly, Time For Drunken Horses, Offside; movies that do well in international film festivals not this garbage.
If these people didn’t know about My Big Fat Greek Wedding, I don't know what else they were going to do.
The most ridiculous part is the bandendazoon e aroos. I mean who does that in modern Iran? In dar of dahat maybe, even dahatis have changed so much, but believe me no dahati is willing to see his daughter is married to a foreigner.

If you or another Iranian.com reader have English subtitles for "ezdevaj be sabke irani" (Marriage Iranian Style), might you please be kind enough to upload these subtitles to //www.opensubtitles.org.

I would like to write a review of "Marriage Iranian Style" for a small Los Angeles film periodical. I saw the subtitled theatrical release in LA, but ought to see a DVD again before I do.

This film had intrigued me because it adapted the liberal social conventions of a quintessential American genre - the romantic comedy - to fit Iran's conservative culture.

So real, we were invited to a such wedding here in states couple of month ago the groom was American and bride was Iranian born. Perhaps you should put a disclaimer on this video: any similarities to your wedding are purely coincidental :-) Thanks PG.
