The synergy between Kiosk and Namjoo is fantastic!
by mehrjan on Sat Aug 22, 2009 12:26 PM PDTI also don't claim to be a musicologist. However, the original version by Mobarakshahi reminds me of the early jazz, rock, iranian fusion of music back in the 70's. While there is a certain type of beauty in the the original version, the version by Kiosk and Namjoo is what can be referred to as an exquisite evolution of the original. Kiosk's steady and paced grasp of various musical styles takes you on a melodic journey that you do not want to end. Then, masterfully, a synergy is created between the steady, strong vocals of Arash Sobhani, instrumentals and then last but not least the magical and innovative vocals of Namjoo. Like a musical sorcerer that he is, Namjoo takes on another innovative approach to what we may first view as background vocals. However, without us even realizing it, he wisks in and wraps, swirves and manuevers his vocals in such a way that the outcome is what we can refer to as Iranian style acapella!
Confusing video

The Original remains unsurpassed!
by Korosh.Khalili on Mon Aug 17, 2009 08:10 PM PDTAs much as I like Kiosk & Namjoo, the original song, by Pamiri singer Mobaraksho (Mobarakshah) is not surpassed to my untrained ears.
