by Anonymous-9999 (not verified) on Tue Jun 23, 2009 03:32 PM PDTWhere did you get the 80%? She lost her face in Iran when she performed the song "Agha Koobeh" for Khmeine and she became a negative figure in LA when she organized the Mafia......
PS: Dear DK, Do you really believe in what she said about the Agha Koobeh song? Listen to the song again then ask yourself whether she says the truth!
Phenomenon Googoosh
by Suri (not verified) on Tue Jun 23, 2009 02:04 PM PDTGoogoosh you are just fantastic and bring back all the wonderful memories we have of Iran, you have the most incredible voice.
To those people who don't like Googoosh, so why make time to listen to her? Maybe you are just envious? Don't forget that Googoosh is loved by probably 80% or more of the Iranians, not to mention Tajikestan and the rest of Middle East, because she is very unique and great inspiration to women. So what, lots of Iranians trusted and liked Khomeini and his team at the beginning but not any longer.

She is a singer, not a politician
by t (not verified) on Tue Jun 23, 2009 01:47 PM PDTWhy be so judgemental toward her. She is a singer, not a politician. Judge her on the lyrics, her voice, etc... not her political inclinations. It's a beautiful, quality work. Great work Googoosh. You're a great signer.
Googoosh On "Agha Khoube" Controversy

Googoosh do you remember the song you sang for Khomeini?[Agha jun ghalat kardam g@h khgordam?????]
All those LA singers just need to STFU with their fake emotions and ridicules songs and lyrics.

Afarin Googoosh!
by Proud Irani (not verified) on Tue Jun 23, 2009 03:46 AM PDTWhen our artists don't take a stand-we complain. When they do take a stand, some people still complain.
Googoosh was in Iran and silent for 21 years, a prisoner like millions of other Iranians. How is that working with the mullahs? If that's a fair measure, then how about the 99% of Iranians who voted for the IRI in 1979?! Are they all to be reminded and condemned for that for ever?
Let's stop looking to the past and look at the present. This is a moving, timely song, with excellent production and a good video. It touches the hearts of most Iranians and Googoosh should be applauded for it.

معلوم که یک آهنگ ساز درست حسابی این آهنگ را نوشته
Regarding the video the song was written earlier. But she's done the correct thing making a video showing these hurtful images of iranian suffering. Now at least the woman that was lapidated to death will be seen in this video by millons of iranians, many of which in reality don't care about others sufferings
So I think it is well done. Also, Googoosh is a very importante part of Iran's culture and people inside Iran do look up at her in many cases

Beautiful song, thank you Googoosh.
by BK (not verified) on Tue Jun 23, 2009 01:25 AM PDTThose who put Googoosh down for singing "Aghajoon" should remember that she did that to primarily to save her life, at a time when most artists/actors/singers were under threat, and she did not make any money out of it. Also, that was very shortly after the 1979 Revolution when many other Iranians, who now oppose IRI, were supporting the Mullahs.
Let's also remember Googoosh was subsequently banned for years and even decades from performing in Iran by the Islamic Republic. So until she left Iran, she was prevented from doing what she loved, and when singing and performing is effectively your life, this is a very painful thing to have to endure.
The point I’m making is that Googoosh has had her share of suffering too, so let’s not tarnish this great Iranian singer who’s brought joy to millions over the years.
This is truly a beautiful song.
You go persian diva.
by jkondori (not verified) on Mon Jun 22, 2009 09:31 PM PDTThank you Ghormeh Sabzi. You are great.
No matter what Googoosh stood for or what she will stand for, now she is singing with her great voice for IRAN and the people of IRAN. That is commendable. Any one who is supporting these courageous women and men who are putting their lives on hand deserves a pad on the shoulder.
I am NEDA and I am sure anyone who cares about IRAN, freedom and democracy is NEDA.

by Anonymous-irany (not verified) on Mon Jun 22, 2009 08:25 PM PDTIt is always important who does it. For example Khatami is a criminal and in his time as president 1000s of young Iranians were killed in Iranian prisons. Now ask yourself whether it is appropriate that someone like him speak up for justice. Some other critics go for others.
