Call me quaint, I've got tapes of those and the Molana etc..
I've figured my own question below as well. The ney notes must be drowned out by one of the setars in the recording, otherwise it just doesn't make any sense. In the meantime I'm boogying-on-abr amado bar sare sabze gerist.
"What's three times worse than war?" "Three wars?"
Thank
by Paykar on Mon Dec 06, 2010 10:42 PM PSTyou for the link. Shajarian is in a different class by himself:)
Kamkars did an excellent job harmonizing, and playing the music in a way that celebrates life...

A good voice, skilled
by bambi on Mon Dec 06, 2010 07:02 PM PSTA good voice, skilled interpretation of traditional music and masterful performance. The tar playing is cool too.
But why do some of our singers choose to have these horrible hairstyles?? Namjoo, Najafi, and now her? It seems neglectful. With all the hair products and styling tools out there, you can sculpt your hair to any style you wish.... sleek, curly, long, short, etc. I found her hair distracting to an otherwise flawless performance.
Brilliant
by KayvanAli on Mon Dec 06, 2010 05:23 PM PSTUndoubtedly, She is the real deal.
Can't wait to see her live in the bay area :->

Monda, I reached her ...
by alborz on Mon Dec 06, 2010 09:12 PM PST... through her website and she replied with "Probably September 2011". No details at this time. Perhaps, if a few people contacted her she would know that she has a following here. She is now in Toronto, if I am not mistaken.

Salmo 121 - Peace for all Religions - how wonderful to have her chant in Persian, Arabic and possibly Hebrew in front of a Catholic audience in Italy.

Monda jan, I am late. I still have to listen to her clip
by Anahid Hojjati on Mon Dec 06, 2010 02:31 PM PSTI still have to listen to her clip but if her voice is a blend of Ghamar and Parisa, it must be real good.
Oh No Anahid!
by Monda on Mon Dec 06, 2010 02:15 PM PSTMany people were ahead of me in discovering Raissadat! I heard her the first time on a clip with a children's chorus I think in 2008.
Alborz, IS SHE?!
by Monda on Mon Dec 06, 2010 02:09 PM PSTWould you know when and where? I would just Love to see her on stage!
question
by Dirty Angel on Mon Dec 06, 2010 02:00 PM PSTBefore she starts to sing, the ney is always late. Is it supposed to be like that, a strange arrangement or imbalanced recording error?
"What's three times worse than war?" "Three wars?"
paykar
by Hoshang Targol on Mon Dec 06, 2010 12:33 PM PSTthat's exactly the comparison that I thought too, tough both those voices are really hard to match. Can't wait for this ensemble to perform some Khayam.
