Gezhap, you are correct

It's quite true and I don't actually have a problem with original transpositions. I should have been much clearer in my post: I just find this arrangement particulary cheap and it saddens me greatly, probably because I expect more perfection from our maestro.

I heard a different (more traditional) version of this about 34 years ago.  I liked the old one more than this but you really can't put a limit on Art and Artists. Art is expressed in many ways.  If tomorrow someone plays this with a guitar or Saxophone I may not like it but that doesn’t mean what they do is not right.  Just my 2 cents worth.

Does anybody know anything about this please?

I just don't understand why. Why is there the need for cheap copycat "western style" arrangements of Persian classical music?

Heif nist? That could have been performed with a dotar alone. Or better still, one kamancheh, one voice and one donbak.

Why do they do that? I just don't get it.
