by Jeesh Daram on Mon Feb 28, 2011 09:39 PM PSTAdmin jaan,
thanks for starting this trail that also helped few of us to extend it to other blogs. You were the motivator today. Farrokhzaad was a great man and he will be remembered in Iranian history for his speeches also.

I have to agree with JJ here
by Reality-Bites on Mon Feb 28, 2011 02:58 PM PSTThe song, lyrics and the way FF sings it are slightly comical, unintentionally I'm sure.
I appreciate he was trying to make a point, but musically not one of FF's best, rest his soul.

by Simorgh5555 on Mon Feb 28, 2011 02:06 PM PSTHow about he time when members of the armed forces were clean cut, wore ties and were properly attired and smartly groomed instead of looking like a band of armed robbers.
I like this song "Sarbaz"
by Mehrban on Mon Feb 28, 2011 02:23 PM PSTThere was another clip that was posted at IC not long ago. Sung by an Iranian lady with South African choir and a French orchestra accompanying her. It was recorded in France somewhere maybe in Paris. Does anyone remember that clip? I have been looking for it but no luck in finding it.
Pahlevan Jaan song was Not just for Monarchists defending Iran.
by Darius Kadivar on Mon Feb 28, 2011 02:05 PM PSTPahlevan Jaan song was Not just for Monarchists defending Iran.
Farrokhzad was expressing his outrage at the Regime for corrupting the Genuine Spirit of the Army which is supposed to fight with Honor to defend it's people and land as well as serve as protector of the nation's women and children instead of Shamelessly sending them to the War Front:
Iranians' Patriotism:Children on the Front During Iran- Iraq War
Pouran Farrokhzad Sister of Forough (who still lives in Iran) and Fereidoun speaks about what his Brother did for war children :

The IRI used these kids in the same way Hitler Used the Hitler's Youth to sacrifice themselves on Mine fields with a Plastic Key for Paradise.
I might be wrong but ...
by Pahlevan on Mon Feb 28, 2011 01:35 PM PSTI might be wrong but I think Farrokhzad sang this during Iran-Iraq war, for army soldiers who were fighting Iraqis, and were mostly former Imperial Army soldiers ... I am not sure though.
I think there is a confusion here
by Jeesh Daram on Mon Feb 28, 2011 12:22 PM PSTLet me give you an all time heroic song by Ivan Rberoff. My gerneration that is being rediculed by the youth of today were grown up by songs like this under the very government of Shah that many think was a dictatorship and have no idea what a great life we had in comparison with a trash that we have been given in the past 32 years:
Here is a composition by Ivan Rebroff called "Ochi Chernye" or Black Eyes.

I will post it on my blog of today for related subject.

Listen to #10 song from Illuminations CD of Josh Groban
by Anahid Hojjati on Mon Feb 28, 2011 10:04 AM PST#10 in this CD which is in Purtuguese has very nice music. I don't get tired of listening to it. It seems appropriate for a revolutionary song. Someone should try writing Farsi lyrics to this music and see if it would turn out good as a revolutionary song.
after all these days we
by Soosan Khanoom on Mon Feb 28, 2011 09:55 AM PSTafter all these days we are talking about facebook generation ........ revolution ........ a guitar is pretty much up peat and patriotic and anything with freedom word in it is ... well... it is anti-dictatorship ...

SUCKS
by Fred on Mon Feb 28, 2011 09:36 AM PSTThe fact that it did not caught on confirms the SUCKS description. But, I like the lyrics and the tempo which gives it a crisp and resolute feeling.
If Aref were alive, he would churn out half a dozen great ones every other day.

by Jahanshah Javid on Mon Feb 28, 2011 09:07 AM PSTThis song has been out there for a long time obviously. But how many have ever heard of it? Or re-made it?
It's getting a second life on YouTube. Let's see if it fares better 5 years from now. I say no way! :)

by Jahanshah Javid on Mon Feb 28, 2011 09:04 AM PSTPlease! That song SUCKS! Who waits a minute to get to the lyrics? And that terrible chorus and the lyrics... it has no soul...
disagree
by pedramx on Mon Feb 28, 2011 08:55 AM PSTI have to disagree with you JJ jan, I really like this song, it is sincere and up beat... I guess since you have heard it so many times you have become numb to it.
But I always wonder why since 79 we haven't had very many good up beat patriotic music.
Rousing
by Fred on Mon Feb 28, 2011 08:48 AM PSTSlightly older than two years, however, the most rousing to my mind and with the right message.

Whatever this is, isn't it
by Jahanshah Javid on Mon Feb 28, 2011 08:29 AM PSTI'm trying to think of ONE recent (past 2 years) rousing, up-beat, thumping patriotic/anti-dictatorship song and nothing comes to mind.
Ok, there are various versions of "Yaar-e Dabestani"... but what is that? Not exactly rousing.
Anyway, nice try by Fereydoun Farroukhzad. But his attempt will not be remembered, positively, I don't think :)
