Dare to Hope

Dare to Hope

Hope startled from nowhere;
As it dared us to witness.
Everyone knows there wasn’t much,
Except for a whisper to wish.

There’s the darkness and chaos;
Theirs has been despair and pain.
But an oracle has foreseen,
Where and when you can dare to hope.

Death abounds in every corner;
Sadness binds arms and feet.
The dungeon’s dark fear … the bullet’s red verdict,
But he still dares, she still hopes.

In solemn courage, in pure daring
For mankind all willing to love
Trumpeting the fall of darkness
Emancipation promised … you shall dare to hope.
