Nilofar khanom glad to see you liked Acker, you'll probably like Carter even more.

Per Iranian influences: I forgot to mention Jahan Khaton. And obviously the commonality amongst Jahan Khaton, Mahasti Ganjevary, Forugh Farkhozad, being their frankness writing about their female wishes and desires; thus inventing a language and a discourse which had not  existed hitherto.

As far as Forough and her voice; Besides the literal voice and sound, recoreded in the interviews and readings (which at times could sound sad)   we  also have her poetic voice, and in that  voice we observe works such as: "Ay Marz Por Gohr," to "Little Ali,"to many other poems which attack our most cherished cultural believes relentlessly and dismiss all of them. Forough has a fiery side all her own. Forough Farokhzad's critique of Iranian national culture is one of the most trenchant  critiques we have ever read, yet.

Ms. Hora Yavary, also has some interesting textual readings from Forough. Cheers

1) Thanks Zendanian for your suggestion of Kathy Acker. I looked up her name and her work seems fascinating to me. From reading her biography, I can see why you think my trajectory is like hers. I think you are very right in some respect. I am going to get my hand on her books in the first opportunity and read them. In relation to your idea that my work reminds you of Mahasti and Forough, I should say that this comment is also very sensible. I guess my voice is more like Mahasti's. I personally think that Forough has a very very sad voice that almost make me cry. It is worse when I listen to her poetry by her own voice. Very sad, very desolate. My voice, at least to my own years, sounds funny and playful. Well, maybe there is an undertone of sadness in some poems. but definitely not in my "Hazliyats", one of which is this poem "Shokhi with Hafez". What is your assessment?

2) Thanks Mehrban for your analysis. As always, I learned a lot from it. Your writing in itself, regardless of its content, energizes me. Your encougragements mean a lot to me and my development. By the way, in addition to what you said in your analysis, I personaly think that one of the other things that "Shake Nabat" is doing in this poem is giving Hafiz a body. I guess in our collective imagination, Hafiz like many others are creatures with no body. I am trying to correct my own imagination and see Hafiz who I love with a particular body. What is your opinion on this?

And thank you Ms. Nilofar for once again refreshing our long jaded, Male dominated cultural icons with your much needed Feminine poetics .

You literary trajectory reminds me of Mahasti Ganjavi, and Forogh amongst Iranian women writers.

And also of Angela Carter, and Kathy Acker.

The latter has a work with the title: "Blood and Guts in High School."  In that book Acker has written a few lines in Persian.

Acker's "Empire of the Senseless" could be of special interest to you, cheers 

It is not its levity but its weight

This is the first time that Shakeh Nabaat is given a voice.  In Hafez's poetry she is solely the object of desire, she is also generally absent. Here she not only speaks but she taunts Hafez and that is funny. Not just funny haha but exciting funny from something clever innovative and new.  Okay she does not just taunt Hafez but tells him how she  assumes a complete sextual identity of her own independent of him.  This poem is so conceptually inovative and in an Iranian context daring that it does not matter what the individual verses say.  It is not really content driven at all.  

My laughter was not because of the levity of the poem but beacuse of my delight at its weight. It is exciting to read the works of a poet (a female poet in this case) that talks back and does so unapologetically and she does not only talk back but she banters with untouchable icons like Freud and Hafez.

Needless to say that this has no relation with how highly I esteem Hafez (and I do hold him in highest regards).  It is about the fact that life goes on and someone has created something new, and that in a relatively short poem someone has succeeded to poke holes into and poke fun at our otherwise unexamined cultural and literary models.

بخصوص بعد از انتشار آن دیگر شعرم در مورد فروید، متوجه شدم که جامعه ی ایرانی، بخصوص ساکنان آمریکای شمالی که بسیاری از خوانندگان و نظردهندگان این سایت را تشکلیل می دهند، بسیار تحول پیدا کرده است. من حتی از روی حس و تجربه شخصی تصور می کنم که جامعه ایرانی ساکن آمریکای شمالی باز اندیش تر از جامعه ایرانی ساکن اروپاست اما شاید این تصور نادرست و از روی تعصب باشد.  در مورد شعر فروید، حتی ادمین این سایت هم باورش نمی شد که مخاطبین انقدر خوب برخورد کنند و به همین علت، به منظور پیشگیری از توهین و خشونت کلامی، از همه خواسته بود که نظرات جدی بگذارند. حتی خود من هم از واکنش مثبت خوانندگان و شکلی که با مسئله برخورد و درگیر شده بودند متعجب شدم.  به غیر این موضوع بسیاری موارد دیگر نیز مرا به این نتیجه رسانده است که جامعه ی ایرانی در حال برداشتن گام های بلند در مسیر تحول و مدرن شدن و پذیرفتن تفاوت هاست. این تحول از راه آمیزش فرهنگی و زبانی رخ داده است و نتیجه ی آن از یک طرف مدرن تر شدن فرد نوعی ایرانی و از طرف دیگر باز شدن جامعه ی ایرانی به سمت افق های تازه است

با توجه به برخورد خوانندگان این سایت با شعرهای من باید بگویم آن ها این درک را دارند که ابیات این شعر یا دیگر کارها را به شکل مستقیم و ارجاعی تفسیر نکنند و بدانند که بسیاری کارهای من طنز است، طنزی که زیر ساختش نوعی بازیگوشی کلامی است نه شرح حال شخصی. کما این که حدس می زنم  خیلی از افراد مقاله های جدی مرا هم خوانده باشند و گمان درستی از توانایی های استدلالی و مفهومی من داشته باشند. بسیاری نیز مرا از نزدیک دیده اند یا از طریق فیس بوک با من در ارتباط هستند و سبک زندگی مرا می شناسند بنابراین از چنین نوشته های طنزی گمان اشتباه به خود راه نمی دهند. آن را که حساب پاک است از محاسبه چه باک است

به هر حال از شما سپاسگزارم و نظرات و پاسخ های هوشمندانه و انرژی بخش از طرف شما همیشه بر لبانم لبخند می نشاند. خوشحالم که شعرهای طنز باعث خنداندن و انبساط خاطر مخاطبان و پاسخ دهندگانی مانند شما شود. قسمتی از کار طنز همین تولید فرح بخشی است که بی شک هر دو شاعر و مخاطب با تخیل خود در آن مشارکت دارند
