AMIR SALAMAT
Having been born to an artistic family, I was introduced to western art through my older siblings. Having a chance to read books about Dali, Impressionists, Picasso, Klee, Miro etc was my first introduction to the world of art. My art changed through the years but it retained some of my early influences. I learned to interject my Iranian heritage in my work through use of brighter colors which I got from studying Iranian miniature paintings and adding Persian writings and motifs. My painting style is evolving continually, but a certain flavor in my work remains constant—namely my interest in chaos theory which is a recurring theme in my most recent paintings.
