Your racist comments and

by Mariam, copenhagen (not verified) on

Your racist comments and lack of knowledge about the subject you are trying to write about speaks volume of the kind of person you are. If you want to enlighten me and the majority of the Iranian people about the "truth" of Imam Hussain, then I suggest you spend time reading more history and less time making immature mockeries and illogical weak posts on iranian.com.

You wrote that Imam Ali and Imam Hussain were
"were aloof, fierce, Arab tribesmen belonging to Mussavi branch of the Prophet’s clan. Well known for their brutality, they were imbued with the irresistible drive to abandon their Bedouin existence in the desert to conquer Persia."

There was no such thing as "Mussavi branch" (whatever that is) in the time of neither Ali nor Hussain. The name Mussavi (or Mousawi) was used centuries laster for the descendants of Imam Musa bin Kazem, the father of Imam Reza.

I will not engage in replying to you anymore as you clearly have proven that you have no idea what you are talking about. If you want to have a rational debate in a civil manner, then I will be happy to register and debate with you.

Who Were Imam Ali & Imam Hussian?

by LalehGillani on

Let’s stroll down the history lane to explore the characters of Imam Ali and Imam Hussian and expose the reality behind their holy causes:

These individuals were neither “sacred people” nor “freedom fighters.” They were aloof, fierce, Arab tribesmen belonging to Mussavi branch of the Prophet’s clan. Well known for their brutality, they were imbued with the irresistible drive to abandon their Bedouin existence in the desert to conquer Persia.

But long before the Persian military conquest began, these tribesmen practiced beheading their own kin in the Arabian Peninsula. To perfect their art of killing, they enlisted the services of the best sword makers in the land. Zulfiqaar was Imam Ali’s two tipped sword most efficiently perfected to sever heads and limbs. This horde of spear-brandishing desert raiders often attacked caravans to supplement their income.

The myth of Imam Ali and Imam Hussian has been artfully manufactured by their devoted descendants and followers to rally the masses around a brutal cause. It is incumbent upon us to expose this myth and to bring to the forefront the realities of their lives.

Our voices will be silenced no more…

I'm sorry for your terrible loss, but do you blame Imam Hussain for what those people
did to your loved ones?
Should we be blaming Moses for what the the Israeli govt is doing in gaza?

You judge

by SJ (not verified) on

You judge everything/everyone by your standards of "today", and you judge all by what you HATE most NOW.

What you seem not to comprehend is that you cannot defeat a religion altogether.
Not at least in a short span of time. Maybe over centuries religions will be diluted and little will remain... but it will not totally disappear. As God will always be there.

The communists tried but did not succeed.

If you want to call yourselves democratic, humanitarian liberation seekers, then act it.

Do you really believe that each one of you is a pure thoroughbred Persian/Iranian/Aryan???
You -- yes even 'you' will probably have some (if not a LOT) of Arab in your ancestry. If not Arab perhaps you would rather be identified as having Mongol or Turkic... blood running in your veins?
No one is better than the next just by blood and lineage.
So stop this nonsense of bashing and bashing and bashing.
You don't want people to act like sheep? So why are you acting so woolly following the line of religion
bashing, especially Islam?

Yes I absolutely agree that religion is for each individual to decide upon and in their heart. Yes I do agree with separation of church and state and yes I do believe in human rights and freedom.....
But I also believe that there were sacred people in the world.
I believe Emam Hossein was one of them.

So what are you going to do with me? And the millions like me but with variations of understanding and thought?

Do I have the right to believe what I want to believe in, or maybe it is only YOU who is right and Perhaps I should just keep quiet and not utter a word and just hate all people other than non- believers of all sorts.

Remember we can actually only see to the tip of our noses, the rest of the truth remains to be figured out.

There is much which has been left unsaid...

Here's a text message that is circulating in Tehran these days.  Someone sent it to me:

We Have Been Silent For Too Long…

by LalehGillani on

Historical facts dispute your claims, Madam. Imam Hussian died in the hands of his kin, fighting a war of power struggle between descendants of Islam’s prophet. Both sides of this conflict were Arabs and related by blood, and with their atrocities towards each other, they demonstrated only their own ruthlessness. If a human being can’t extend the slightest kindness towards his own blood, how can he have any compassion for strangers?

As for our eight year war with Iraq, we defended our homeland against Arabs. Saddam Hussian sought a victory to rival the battle of al-Qādisiyyah but was shockingly reminded of our endurance.

The mood of this war in the battlegrounds was masterfully choreographed by mullahs, giving center stage to the religious fervor of the believers. Other soldiers were either drugged to submission or simply pushed aside to make room for another Karbala.

Those of us who had family members and relatives in the war can share with you our own experiences. As for me, I can tell you that when our fallen were returned to us, we were not given the choice of where to bury them, what to inscribe on their grave stones, and how to eulogize them. The local mullah had already arranged for a religious style funeral and memorial service despite the opposition of my family. To add insult to injury, the last testaments of our loved ones were dubiously written in someone else’s handwriting and reflected a religious devotion that was entirely absent in the characters of those whom we knew so dearly.

The ones who were retuned to us alive were either addicted to drugs or scarred by the horrors of war forever… all in the name of Imam Hussian, in the name of Karbala.

Mocking I shall not… Revealing the truth I must…

People who insult and mock

by Mariam, copenhagen (not verified) on

People who insult and mock Imam Hussain are in fact insulting the majority of Iranian population who have grown to love this figure because of the principles that he stood for, his forbearance to the oppression, his courage, bravery, modesty, his character and faith.

The story of Karbala served as the main source of inspiration for the brave Iranian soldiers and volunteers who joined warfront and fought and died for Iran in the 8 year Iraq-Iran war. This can be seen from the last will and testament of the combatants, in their headbands, in the mottoes and songs of the war front, in the operations' catchwords, in the mood of the nights before the operation etc. It was thanks to these martyrs, who saw themselves as students and follows of Hussain, that Iran is a free country.... otherwise we would have become like the Arabs.

Likewise, the South Lebanese succeeded in defeating the Israelis in 2000 and 2006 thanks to the school of thought of Imam Hussain.

Mock as much as you want, it just shows your weakness and your lack of tolerance.

آقامون قاتله

LalehGillani

I am sitting here with a room full of Iranians whose sole entertainment right now is to improve upon this angelic song. Here is our latest attempt

you know I didn't even think of the solo female voice and their restrictions. Maybe they allowed it to lure the more westernized iranian men like yourself! you know even lying is allowed if it brings more people to the "right path"! ends justify the means even in sharia :0)

the parallel with 007 girls killed me. I love your sense of humor!

Best wishes for the New Year

Glad you caught the "natijeh akhlaghi." Joking aside though, I really find this video quite intriguing--for other reasons. As far as I know the solo female voice is still a no-no in Iran. So this work may not be IRI approved, despite its sucking up to Shiism.  Perhaps it is testing the waters, inviting the IRI to recognize the effectiveness of steaminess in promoting ideology. After all, the James Bond girl gets much credit for the appeal of Capitalism during the Cold War.  Without her, fast cars and fancy gadgets would have only geek value for the male consumer.

Contains a nauseating mixture of spiritual, physical, and sexual references--the old Western strategy of personifying an otherwise dead religion and endearing it to the illiterate masses.

There is nothing wrong with religion. SI ther anything wrong with believing in something which YOU may find it old-fashioned?

Religion like many other sentiments in the world is just personal. When you face difficulties, believing in something, though not completely true, is better than drinking and drug.

Making heros from our enemies!!!!!

by Iran Y Beman on

I would say the singer has a great voice and there are lots of talents putting the video together, the unfortunate part of this video is that we complain about making the movie 300 but we don't mind making those who kill, rape, invade and took our homeland apart a "Hero", this should not be "Aghamoon".

Hossian was an Arab man who invaded my homeland and his fight had nothing to do with me and My Iran.

Iran Y Beman ey Farzand e Iran.

Lyric and music is not original and we realy dont need another song about Hussein or any other religiise person.

I'm realy fed up of religion. People kill each other because of it.

I actually like other versions of this song better, but this is still very nice. And, of cours, the fact that it is a woman singing it, gives it other layers of meaning and significance.
