Huh? Fuzool...
by پیام on Fri Dec 18, 2009 11:42 AM PSTWhen did I insult anyone in this topic? You better read before you respond. Now go and wage your cyber war.
Payam!
by Fouzul Bashi on Fri Dec 18, 2009 07:27 AM PSTYou are twisting and turning to make it sound I have tried to shut you up unjustifiably! Listen brother, you insulted this man who, whether or not you and I agree with everything he stands for, is defending some basic rights at great risk to himself. I did not name you, but showed my 'disagreement' (not shutting up!) with that stance. YOU came back implying I am an AGENT or SUPPORTER of the regime!!!! Who is abusive now and attacks and slanders other people without any evidence and any justification? ;)
You insult and slander this chap and insult and slander me, and then cry foul?! ;)
I did not make a conclusive character judgement about you on the basis of 2 [not one] remarks. I made a contextual conclusion based on your hasty judgement on this chap and later on myself. You lied about me and slandered me and so I called you a "dorooghgoo"! You insult is not abuse of the freedom of expression, but me calling it what it is, makes it an offence, ha?
Fozool,
by پیام on Fri Dec 18, 2009 01:09 AM PSTDon't base your conclussions on a person on only a single statement. The cause you are trying to defend is the "freedom of speech". Even if it seems to you that someone is sitting abroad and asks for it to be "lenged" ( lengesh kon), stil it gives you no right to shut him up and even jump to conclusions on him to soon. Engage people in a civil manner and start a discussion as an adult and you may find out you may even be on the same page with him. This is the basis of the same democracy which our brothers and sisters are fighting for in Iran and which you seem to be trying to defend.

Agho Payam!
by Fouzul Bashi on Thu Dec 17, 2009 04:29 PM PSTI criticized your hasty offensive remark and judgement on someone standing up to coercion and taking great risk in Iran, under these conditions which could expose him to any arbitrary accusation and punishment. We should be a bit more humble passing judgement.
Don't worry about yourself mate too much. All I am concerned about is not to undermine those who fight, for Iran. It wasn't meant to personally offend you.
Fozool,
by پیام on Thu Dec 17, 2009 03:36 PM PSTI don't neccesarily disagree with anything you are advocating, infact for a great deal I agree with you. My whole discussion with you ( which is getting much longer than I anticipated and I would like to engage ragarding my limited time) is regarding the baseless conclusions you keep making. I would only like to invite you not to base your conclusions on the mere image and judgment you form of people base on a single remark ( it maybe the image you tend to expect from yourself living in the conditions you live abroad). Jumping to conclusions is a habit of less knowledgable people and I sense that you rather wish not to be a part of that bunch.
it is not
by ahmad_ on Thu Dec 17, 2009 01:50 PM PSTit is not too little too late. every small step counts and needs to be taken advatntage of. at this time we need to be inclusive and not exclusive.
it is very easy to sit so far away and be an armchair critic.
Payam! Once again!
by Fouzul Bashi on Thu Dec 17, 2009 01:39 PM PSTBrave, but only when their own buddies where jailed.
by Payam on Thu Dec 17, 2009 05:34 AM EST
Where were these reformists when all other kind of Iranians were jailed?
-----------
You can't generalize individuals' actions and motivations, particularly so when you know little about them. More importantly, by your logic, why didn't the masses come out when their friends and families were tortured and killed???? Because when a struggle becomes collective, the dynamics change, actions become purposeful, are part of an ongoing collective struggle, feed from it and feed into it. Many reformists did challenge and raised their voice and took risks in the past, and many were demoted, bullied, terrorized, jailed, and yes, hacked to death. To pass judgement from the lofty towers of the internet in the safety of US or Europe undermining those who ARE RAISING THEIR VOICE INSIDE THE COUNTRY is hypocritical. I think what I am saying is very clear and hope you get my point.
Fozul, once again in your haste to attack you missed my point.
by پیام on Thu Dec 17, 2009 12:45 PM PSTWhat in my comment gave you the idea that I am all you described earlier and that I insulted these brainiacs?
Personal attacks
by Fouzul Bashi on Thu Dec 17, 2009 11:33 AM PSTPayam khan, doost-e aziz, Personal attacks are when you label and hurl accusations and abuse against an individual whose history you most likely do not know, and who is risking (yes, in Iran he IS risking) his livelihood, safety and his life, to speak some words of truth within the strict, dangerous and arbitrary limitations that dominate that tortured society. Sometimes, from our lofty heights in the US and UK, we should descend and be more humble and more grateful for those who are fighting in Iran, even if we do not agree with everything someone stands for. Do you think people in iran would insult this brave man? Do you think if they did, there would be a united and growing movement in Iran?
Sargord
by AryamehrNYC on Thu Dec 17, 2009 11:29 AM PSTAjab cherto-pert meegheh. What popularly elected legislature? the only candidates not disqualified are the jahels, dozds, tazi's and pesar baz-hah.
dont worry though, these same "popularly elected officials", otherwise known as parasites, will be calling the bekaa valley home very soon. And you can join them in "paradise".
Cant people shut up when someone is speaking?
by OmidKarimi on Thu Dec 17, 2009 11:09 AM PSTWhat kind of a parlament is this? It sounds like a dining room!

by پیام on Thu Dec 17, 2009 10:39 AM PSTWhatever, it's just that there are lots of personal attacks on the net thses days, especially Iranian.com which I visit regularly. btw, you have a gift to detect all you said to have detected based on couple lines of my comment. According to you I am a liar, pseudo patriot and hypocrite. WOW, what gave me away? And if these aren't personal attacks, I don't know what personal attacks are.
Payam! dorooghgoo!
by Fouzul Bashi on Thu Dec 17, 2009 10:19 AM PSTAgainst which commentators have I waged personal attacks? What I said to you wasn't a personal attack. I caught a lying lengegh-kon ;) I catch liars, hypocrites and pseudo-patriots, darlin! If you have an ounce of honesty give examples of my personal attacks on commentators and I make you understand, if you have an ounce of good will, what the "criticism' are directed at.
Sargord, r u 4 real?
by پیام on Thu Dec 17, 2009 09:21 AM PSTWohahahaha, talking about schizo.
JJ, Iranian.com seems to need a khooneh tekooni. To much i.r. nut cases here these days, infiltrated like a serious case of mold.
Fuzul bashi,

I guess you are in Iran waging war against i.r., huh?
Democracy in action?!
by Jahanshah Javid on Thu Dec 17, 2009 08:38 AM PSTSargord, these are TWO Majles members out of 300 or so. Maybe 10 others at most would have the guts to make critical speeches like these. And they are not even that critical. None of them directly challenge our authoritarian rahbar or velayate faghih, the source of all our badbakhti.
Also, there are dozens and dozens of Majles members who over the past three decades have been sidelined, disqualified in subsequent elections, imprisoned or forced into exile for their harsh criticisms.
There's your democracy in action :o)
Agha Payam - Where were you?
by Fouzul Bashi on Thu Dec 17, 2009 07:59 AM PST"Where were these reformists when all other kind of Iranians were jailed?"
And were where you?! In Europe, leaving comments on the Iranian.com, under an anonymous name?! Just as you are doing now?!
majleseh farmayeshi
by mahmoudg on Thu Dec 17, 2009 07:23 AM PSTThis is a parliament which is under the control of the velayate faghih. Would they let them speak if they do not invoke "in the name of god" in Arabic? I dont think so, hence there is no democracy unless all are allowed to speak.
Nothing he said is particular to the events. He makes broad statements.
Democracy will only come in action in Iran. when Ali Gheda Khamenei is allowed to be elected by the people's direct vote. As is done in America.
Too Late to go back!

by Sargord Pirouz on Thu Dec 17, 2009 04:14 AM PSTHere we have it. A popularly elected official, stating his views in the popularly elected legislature.
Democracy in action, folks.
