Past Monday, the nation celebrated the legacy of a great American figure, Dr Martin Luther King jr.
Dr. King stood for justice, equality, and civility. He dreamed of those things. Considering the current situation in Iran, most Iranians have been dreaming of an Iran which is free, democratic, advanced, respected in the world, and which is in peace with itself and others.
As an Iranian, I have dreams about those things also, in addition to some of the following:
I have a dream that I wake up tomorrow and see the IRI no longer in existence, cause as result, Iran will be freed, and the world will get rid of the biggest threat it faces, and the Israeli-Arab conflict will be resolved, and Islamic fundamentalism will die out.
I have a dream that IRI officials apologize to the Iranian people and surrender themselves to justice for the crimes against humanity they have been committing in Iran for the last 30 years. Apologizing for destroying Iran’s infrastructure, ruining its economy, isolating it, oppressing its people, imprisoning and murdering them, exiling them, taking their freedoms away, taking them hostage in order to promote their own brand of Islam, for making the entire world an enemy of our country, for destroying Iran’s image and reputation, for abolishing the values it once stood for, for taking Iran back to the 7th century, for applying barbaric laws and for leading the world in stupidity and savagery.
I have a dream that IRI apologizes to the U.S and its people, for occupying its embassy and, burning its flag on daily basis, and constantly bad mouthing it, and for putting Iran on the verge of a devastating war with the U.S.
I have a dream for IRI to apologize to Israel for starting an irrational animosity with it, although Israel has never done anything wrong to our country.
I have a dream for IRI to apologize to all Palestinians for doing its outmost for peace not to take place between Israeli and Palestinians, thus, resulting in more and more bloodshed of Palestinian people caught in the middle between IRI-puppet Hamas and Israel.
I have a dream of IRI apologizing to the world for creating and inspiring the model of Islamic fundamentalism, thus resulting in bloodshed in numerous countries from Philippines to America, by the hands of Islamists who seek to follow Khomeini’s model.
And finally, I have a dream for IRI supporters on Iranian.com (!!) to come to their senses and realize that for any reaction, there should be a “rational” action, not just “any reaction”, and for them to realize that their justification and apology for IRI crimes is a betrayal to Iran and its values and it results in the prolonging the life of a regime which its least concern is the life of the Iranian people and the dignity of Iran.
I have a dream!

Jaa (place)
by AH Danesh (not verified) on Thu Jan 29, 2009 05:41 PM PSTDon't forget if the dream comes true there should be a place already set aside for Islamic Republic to be thrown into (Farsi: Jaa: the acrynom for the islamic republic of Iran in farsi). Without this designated place to be conceived ahead of time to think that Islamic Republic will disappear completely in the cosmic universe goes against the first law of thermodynamic: The indistructibility of matter and enery.
Treachery and lies of Farhad Kashani, et al
by Mehdi on Thu Jan 29, 2009 04:59 PM PSTZion, Fred, FK, and the rest of well known Israeli supporters who claim they are Iranians, have repeatedly asked for a revolution in Iran, or maybe a US-Israel bombing of Iranians (surgical strike, of course - they don't have the courage to say just bombing). These individuals are VERY loud about "the crimes of IRI" but when it comes to their beloved apartheid Israel, they are SO very quiet.
Look, if Iranians wish to do something for their people, something honest and sincere, like start a group that works within the framework of the current regime and also within the framework of the current culture and religious beliefs and improves people, something that does not come across as an insult to most people; something that is not a disguise for those power hungry criminals who as an example, have ruthless criminals under the title of "intelligence agencies" working for them, then I say by all means, go ahead. But why listen to those who have repeatedly made it very clear that they have ZERO interest in Iran or Iranians? Just watch this video and ask FK, Zion, Fred and all other Israel lovers to tell us if the woman in this video represents what they are promising us? Is this woman what Moses tried to create? When the US-Israeli solders occupy our country, will we be like the Palestinians in this video, under house arrest with nowhere to go and no law to protect us?
//iranian.com/main/2009/jan/israeli-apart...
I don't know about you, but when I see this video, their inhumanity, their absolute lack of compassion, their open statements of domination and absolute disregard for human life, I tend to be cautious and wonder why they are so concerned about me. I think if the mullahs in Iran keep doing what you think they are doing, how long will it take before the amount of their crimes will reach the crimes of Israel up to now. Maybe another 100 years, they will be there? What do you think? I have never seen mullahs degrade people so harshly - look at the Palestinians who are building houses for the "settlers" (thieves). Is this the future FK and his gang is offering us?

How did the Iranian student
by question (not verified) on Thu Jan 29, 2009 03:52 PM PSTHow did the Iranian student movement in the US galvanize the international opinion against the Shah?
Were the Iranian students afraid to get involve in political activities on their campuses? Did the shah have spies or monitored anti-government their activities abroad the way the IRI does?
did the students fear for their lives and the lives of their family and friends?
I think Iranians were free to organize politically abroad because they were not afraid of being killed or putting their families in danger.
Unfortuantely, the IRI az hameh zahreh cheshm gerefteh by being so burtal inside and outside ergo the reluctance of the silent majority expat to get involved in political activities against the regime, which is yet another testament to the ultra fascistic nature of the regime.
Something much worse than IRI: Israel

Watch the "Jewish" woman who has completely turned into a beast. Is this what Moses preached? To be an animal? Is this the most democratic regime in Middle East? No, thanks, Give me IRI any day. I have never seen mullahs be so inhuman and such beasts.
Here we are again...
by Michael Mahyar Hojjatie on Thu Jan 29, 2009 03:53 PM PSTWishing for ANY option B when option A failed us miserably. I don't want to say too much with my real name and face on here (just want to ensure my safety, you know how "they" get you when they want you!), but I will say it would be great if for once our nation could actually PEACEFULLY elect a leader, a competent leader, and see where that goes. Would Mossadegh have accomplished ALL that we think? Hard to say, given his short tenure, but he certainly was a ray of hope and got off to a great start. When a nation is used to every, single, regime change taking place violently over several generations, you tend to become jaded and hopeless. As long as we as a people can unite and put our often petty differences aside from what I frequently see displayed on here, our remaining slivers of hope will someday manifest into reality.

a bad alternative (to Gimme)
by Anonym7 (not verified) on Thu Jan 29, 2009 03:05 PM PSTGimme says: "did I hit a nerve?"
No you didn't hit any nerve, and No I don't mind if IRI is gone! However, Mr. Kashani's alternative, i.e., a U.S/Israeli puppet regime is a bad alternative, such an alternative will not be any less corrupt than IRI but very likely more incompetent than IRI, at best something similar to Mobark's regime in Egypt or at worst Karzai's government in Afghanistan.
Mr. Kashani's alternative would undoubtedly want to serve the interests of masters (U.S and Israel) but it won't be even capable of that!

What is to be done?
by Anonymous123 (not verified) on Thu Jan 29, 2009 01:35 PM PSTIt is a beautiful dream not to be under the force of the Islamic Republic any longer.
At the same time, I too worry about all groups that are now active against the present regime. Everyone seems to have a different dogma to dictate to the people of Iran. Every faction seems to want to shove their theories down people's throat. Really I am amazed at the nation of Iran and its capacity for survival and progress. If it were left to The Islamic Republic all Iranians would be living in hovels throwing dirt on their heads and mourning, while the Clergy would rob them blind. But I too worry about who will come next just a different group that is ready to rape and pillage under a different guise?
I wish I knew how the wise and ancient people of Iran could truly take charge of their destiny because they really know best with more than 2500 years of wisdom and experience.

To Anonym7: why the sarcasm?
by Gimme a break (not verified) on Thu Jan 29, 2009 12:44 PM PSTWhy? did I hit a nerve? Did you get offended by my last paragragh?!
Are you implying that isn't what IRI wants? Are you trying to convey this idea that if IRI is gone, it will be replaced by a regime much worse therefore we would be better off and safer living with the same IRI?!!!
dear I've heard this excuse so many times before by open and closeted supporters of the IRI, it won't wash any longer!!

by Kaveh Nouraee on Thu Jan 29, 2009 12:21 PM PSTThose levels are not hitherto unknown. They are hitherto untraceable.
Iran has not developed or grown, it has de-evolved and shriveled. Whatever nominal progess that has been realized (and nominal is an extreme overstatement here) has been in spite of the IRI, and most definitely not inspired by the IRI.
Thanks to the IRI, Iran has only fleetingly flirted with capitalism. With the level of corruption deeper than the Caspian Sea or the Persian Gulf itself, it is not real capitalism but a thinly veiled facsimile, with government controls that make socialism look benevolent by comparsion in certain areas. There was corruption during the Pahlavi monarchy of course, but compared to the present day, those who had partaken in such deeds back then were merely commissoned salespeople.

by Anonym7 (not verified) on Thu Jan 29, 2009 12:03 PM PSTGMA (Gimme a break), as I said, I have a nightmare that IRI is replaced by something WORSE, such as a new corrupt and out of touch with reality puppet regime that consists of the kind of politics that my friend Mr.Kashani represents.
GMA azeez, please notice the adjective 'WORSE' in my paragraph. As you know we Iranians once replaced the corrupt regime of Shah with a more corrupt IRI. We don't want to repeat that, do we?
BTW, GMH, you sound a lot like my friend Mr. Kashani in your last paragraph, perhaps you and him have some kind of psychic connection!
Did you have doogh with your chelokabAb?
i dream knowing what reality is
by hessam (not verified) on Thu Jan 29, 2009 11:48 AM PSTMy friends, Iran as a nation-state has for the past 30 yeras grown and developed to levels hitherto unknown. however such growth comes at a cost to many working classes of society, a price which all Eurpoean working people had to pay in the 18th cent. Iran is moving twords a developed capitalist country with sharp inequalities between rich and poor.

by Gimme a break (not verified) on Thu Jan 29, 2009 10:08 AM PSTBut I thought IRI is just that! corrupt-to-the-core and out of touch with reality! Where on earth can you find more corrupt and more out of touch with reality regime than the IRI?
Everybody knows about the astronomical wealth accumulated by the likes of Rafsanjani and Va'eze Tabasi! Is any transparaency or accountability as regards the Bonyad-e mostazaffeen's revenues?!
Everybody knows how out-of-touch with reality IRI is. Mullahs expect America to help them build a bomb and then help them drop it on Israel, then turn over the entire Middle East to he IRI so that Khameneii & Co. can topple all the regimes in the ME countries and replace them with clones of the Islamic Republic with a Vali-e-Faqih assigned by Seyyid Khameneii to each country all under his command and all as Iran's colonies ... lol
