Awesome! Now let's get PINK FLOYD to go Green!
by Death_To_Fascism on Fri Jul 03, 2009 11:30 PM PDTI started listening to U2 as a teenager when they released their very first album 'Boy' back in the early '80s. Then the music kept getting better and better with albums 'The Unforgettable Fire', the Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, etc. This is amazing to watch! Sunday Bloody Sunday is the song U2 wrote about the Derry massacre in Northern Ireland when British troops opened fire on unarmed civilian protestors on Sunday, January 30, 1972. Very appropriate song to go Green for.
But do you all know what would be absolutely spectacular to see come out for Iran: PINK FLOYD! Maybe they can be induced out of retirement for a worthy cause like this and redo a version of Another Brick in the Wall (Part III?), with redone lyrics, just for the Sea of Green in Iran.
Its is she
by David ET on Fri Jul 03, 2009 10:49 PM PDTand I guess she is not with the band but did the lead to the song. Here is what someone wrote:
First up, the previous song outros with a beautiful lilting vocal piece by (we discover) Iranian-born singer Sussan Deyhim. Then as the rhythmic opening bars of 'Sunday' arrive, the overhead spherical screens turn a luminous shade of green as farsi script script scrolls into sight.

I'm sorry - but Bono is not
by Anonymous - first time comment (not verified) on Fri Jul 03, 2009 09:46 PM PDTI'm sorry - but Bono is not Iranian. He is Irish.
He was born in Glasnevin, Dublin, Ireland, and was raised there with his brother, Norman Hewson, by their mother Iris, a Church of Ireland Anglican, and their father Brendan Robert "Bob" Hewson, a Roman Catholic.
All the same his and U2s music is amazing in its unifying quality and humanitarian message.

by Monda on Fri Jul 03, 2009 06:49 PM PDTHow touching for the non-Iranian world to acknowledge the atrocities in Iran!
Amazing Song!
by Artificial Intelligence on Fri Jul 03, 2009 06:46 PM PDTExcellent Lyrics and relevant to the struggle against the Islamists:
I cant believe the news today
Oh, I cant close my eyes and make it go away
How long...
How long must we sing this song?
How long? how long...
cause tonight...we can be as one
Tonight...
Broken bottles under childrens feet
Bodies strewn across the dead end street
But I wont heed the battle call
It puts my back up
Puts my back up against the wall
Sunday, bloody sunday
Sunday, bloody sunday
Sunday, bloody sunday (sunday bloody sunday...)
(allright lets go!)
And the battles just begun
Theres many lost, but tell me who has won
The trench is dug within our hearts
And mothers, children, brothers, sisters torn apart
Sunday, bloody sunday
Sunday, bloody sunday
How long...
How long must we sing this song?
How long? how long...
cause tonight...we can be as one
Tonight...
Tonight...
Sunday, bloody sunday (tonight)
Tonight
Sunday, bloody sunday (tonight)
(come get some!)
Wipe the tears from your eyes
Wipe your tears away
Wipe your tears away
I wipe your tears away
(sunday, bloody sunday)
I wipe your blood shot eyes
(sunday, bloody sunday)
Sunday, bloody sunday (sunday, bloody sunday)
Sunday, bloody sunday (sunday, bloody sunday)
(here I come!)
And its true we are immune
When fact is fiction and tv reality
And today the millions cry
We eat and drink while tomorrow they die
The real battle yet begun (sunday, bloody sunday)
To claim the victory jesus won (sunday, bloody sunday)
On...
Sunday bloody sunday
Sunday bloody sunday...
