WASHINGTON - JUNE 22: Former Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi choked by emotion when mentioning Neda (a recent victim of the brutal repression by the IRI ) during an address at the National Press Club June 22, 2009 in Washington, DC. Pahlavi, commenting on recent developments in Iran, called for a secular, parliamentary, and democratic political system in Iran.

Thank you Reza Jan
by MohaReza (not verified) on Tue Jun 23, 2009 03:08 PM PDTReza is a good man and a great Iranian. He cares, and that counts.
Reza Pahlavi is a very nice
by Meehan (not verified) on Tue Jun 23, 2009 02:57 PM PDTReza Pahlavi is a very nice guy. Much nicer than his father. Very democratic. He can be a great leader and source of inspiration for Iran (unlike his dictator father). He should be given a chance to run for presideny in the future Iran( but not the kingdom)
Pahlavi
by A B (not verified) on Tue Jun 23, 2009 02:57 PM PDTThat press conference was weak. Barack Obama isn't even Iranian, but could run circles around him.
He needs to lay off the donuts.

second chance
by san diego (not verified) on Tue Jun 23, 2009 02:10 PM PDTI believe in second chances. START PACKING if you do a good job you will be elected for a second term as long as you don't follow your father's mistakes and spread real democracy.
JJ did you have too?

A TRUE PATRIOT
by Ayatoilet (not verified) on Tue Jun 23, 2009 01:21 PM PDTI hate to draw comparisons to any members of the Islamic regime, but has any of the regime figures presented any such statement of solidarity, principle an integrity in the past thirty years towards any downtrodden people, including their sweetheart Palestinians? His grand father Reza Shah the Great's first national movement gave human rights to women by shedding them from the veil and started half a century of amazing progress. LONG LIVE PAHLAVI.
I would vote for empress Farah Pahlavi anyday.
by پیام on Tue Jun 23, 2009 01:17 PM PDTA real charismatic lady.
Or grandfather ...
by AnonymousXYZ (not verified) on Tue Jun 23, 2009 01:15 PM PDTAgreed. We may need to look for alternatives, though I personally do not consider it appropriate to sit in judgment on him. He hasn't had it easy, to say the least. But this was a pretty dismal performance on so many levels.
Also, the bitter realization that the same actors and methods that brought down his father doesn't appear to have registered with him.
Hamvatanaan, this is the issue:
Iran is going to be picked on and vilified unless and until Iran rolls over and accepts being a servant nation. (Son of Shah of Iran, of all people, should realize that!)
It makes zero difference who runs Iran: Iran will be an outcast until its "proud" (Western code word for uppity nigga) people accept the realities of the world. We need a nationalist that can unify the structural seams of Iranian society. Get that through your thick heads, azizan, and do NOT fall for all the monkey baazee that is going on.
When is he going to start a Persian version of his site?
by پیام on Tue Jun 23, 2009 01:15 PM PDTFor someone who advocates to be a alternative leader of Iranian people, I just can not understand why for a starter, his website is written in English. Our native language is Persian and majority of Iranians do not speak English. It makes you think, who is he actually representing.
Good man!
by Big Boy on Tue Jun 23, 2009 12:58 PM PDTKnowing what he knows now, he really could be a a very good leader for Iran. Unfortunately he carries a massive liability with him, and that is the last name Pahlavi. Too bad.
Son unlike Father
by t (not verified) on Tue Jun 23, 2009 12:51 PM PDTAs much as I liked his father's demeanor, poise, etc... I don't care for Reza Pahlavi. He looks and sounds weak, not to mention he needs to explain what the hell has he been doing the past 30 years.
Doesn't even sound like he wrote what he was reading off the piece of paper. If there is anyone in that family I would say has a chance at the throne it is Farah Diba.
