Karroubi video

Resorts to YouTube to tell his side on being removed from Tehran Media Expo

Mehdi Karroubi visited the Tehran Press Fair on Friday afternoon. After being loudly acclaimed by a large group of supporters, he was attacked as he left the exhibition hall. Karroubi released a video message concerning those events yesterday. He appears unfazed and, despite reports that he was injured by a projectile on Friday, his forehead bears no marks. English translation.

Your Statement:

" I dropped the Green Movement."

My reaction:

It is good to read.  The green movement was bogus from day one.

Your First Question:

" Now where do I join this real movement you are talking about?"

My answer:

This real movement is your movement.  If you live in the west, become a citizen of the place you live and become politically active in the politics of your adopted country.

Don't give any political parties any money and don't volunteer your time with them.  Keep up with the issues and get fellow Iranians to vote in a bloc.  Make sure that your voice is heard.  Write letters or e-mails to politicians.

Notify politicians to abolish all economic sanctions against Iran.  Foreign investment in Iran will make the Iranian government less xenophobic.  It will also change their mindset.

Write politicians to pass laws that permit Iranians to freely visit the west.  Visas to Iranians whether immigrant visas or tourist visas will open there eyes to real freedom.  Those who go back will demand more freedom for the masses.

Don't get involved in protests against Iran or the Iranian government.  These protests are controlled by others who don't wish to see progress in Iran.  Visit Iran and keep in touch with what is going on in Iran.  In Iran, stay away from political activities.

Your Question:

 Who leads it?

My answer:

There is no leader.  This is a mass movement by individuals.  First and most importantly... improve your economic situation.   "Cherghi ke be khaneh neeyaaz ast be masjid haraam ast".  Charity starts at home.

Your Question:

Is there a membership fee?

My answer:

No membership fee.  And don't send any money to any Iranian opposition groups in the west or anywhere.  They are just misleading you and cheating you out of your hard earned money.  The biggest crooks are the satellite TV hosts who say they will return to Iran in a couple of days and replace the government there.

Your statement:

Tell me, I am excited to know.

My response:

Good to hear.  Keep up the good work.

TRANSITION TO DEMOCRACY

by bacheh irany on

LOOK YOU ALL!

we won't have democracy in iran over-night. these guys would represent a transition, baby steps if you like, towrds some kind of a democracy; a kind of democracy where IRANIAN PEOPLE THEMSELVES will bring about, rather than the mess in Iraq or Afghanistan. look, i know what you are thinking, that i somehow love or appriciate the joomhorieh-eslami!! HELL NO!!. all i know is that anything of value or worth will only come with hard work. if people themselves bring about democracy, they will defend it with all they've got, and they won't cower like in iraq/afghanestan.

Very sincere comments. You are both spot-on correct.

There are certain signs of repugnance of "akhundism" and they are the turban, the long frocks and the beard all mixed in with a lot of filth in the head and flowing from the mouth. Once these are evident, it just doesn't matter what they say: its all lies and deceit.

By the way, we see these signs in similar "akhunds" of other religions too- which goes to prove that the unwritten law of lies & deceit is universal !

Reform? What Reform? Green Movement? What?!

by American Dream on

Here is another person who was a reformer after many years of being a revolutionary!

To all those who wear the green and call for reform...

I demand that you drop the green and join a real movement for change!

Master of deceit

by bachenavvab on

This is the danger of “reformists”.  This is exactly his function to DERAIL the movement and tie it to the “real?” IRI.  What freedoms existed during the glory years of Khomeini that he misses so much?

Mr. Karoubi you are no different than the rest

by mahmoudg on

Mr. Karoubi you either have to support this regime or denounce it and with it renounce Islam and your misguided support of it.  Unless you completely do this, you are no different that the rest of the thugs who have hijacked Iran.  You will be tried in a Western style court of jurisprudence for crimes against humanity.  Your support of this regime for 30 years and your unhindered support of this backward ideological belief we call Islam, is proof enough that you have no interest of Iran or Iranians at heart.  Like your Imam and the current supreme leader you are no different, and are all murderers.  In the hopes of seeing you defrock yourself or be tried for crimes against humanity.
