This is a very interesting
by Jahanshah Javid on Mon Aug 16, 2010 10:01 AM PDTThis is a very interesting speech. His reference to "godless" Tudehis, nod to Islamic culture, relations with the Soviet Union based on "mutual respect", land reform, foreign interference and Iranian independence... He touches on all key post-coup, Cold War issues.
It's also a reminder that after Mossadegh, the Shah was fully in charge. He and he only decides what's right and wrong; who's a traitor, who's not. Same as Khamenei today. It's the same story repeating itself. It has to stop.
Doshman
by ghalam-doon on Mon Aug 16, 2010 08:42 AM PDTThere is always that faceless "doshman." I wonder if he was using the same speech writers back then who write some of the better speeches by Ahmadinejad and more educated leaders of the regime.
He talks about "paak-saazie artesh" and then he hints the same kind of "purification" should be applied to other organs. I wonder how many left leaning army officers were eliminated during this "purification."
He tries to rewrite the history, and why not. Our history has been rewritten many times and every time to justify some form of repression. The latest rewriting has been authorized by members of Ahmadinejad's inner circle:

by عموجان on Mon Aug 16, 2010 09:42 AM PDTGood thing he left Iran and let the people decide for them self, since they couldn't see what he did for them. I am glad I was born and rise under his watch other wise by now on friday nights I be digging holes to find Emam Zaman.
Rohash Shad.
Was he sleep walking?
by Bavafa on Mon Aug 16, 2010 07:34 AM PDTHow could he say these with a straight face?
I know I know…. The current regime is 30 fold more f&*ked up, but still doesn't make these words any closer to reality and true.
Mehrdad
His words and his arguments is perfect.
by Amir Sahameddin Ghiassi on Mon Aug 16, 2010 07:25 AM PDTIf you listen to his speech, it is what a good Iranian also wish for Iran and Iranian. His speech was good and very perfect. All what he said is my wish for Iran, to be free from the force of great powers. But if the great powers will? That is other question.
