Comraids Concubine
by TheMrs on Wed Jun 22, 2011 08:39 AM PDTThe prisoners on hunger strike are smart and rational people. If they are striking, then they know what they are doing. We should support them. We can do this by making sure their strike is effective. They're not doing it for fun right? They don't need naseehat. I'm guessing, what they prefer, is that we make sure their attention grabbing decision to go on strike....grabs everyone's attention. They're doing this to protest. We should make sure their voices are heard. They are doing it to put pressure on officials. We should make sure the pressure is there. The best way to get them back to eating is to make sure they acheive their goals as soon as possible.
This campaign is a great idea. But there should be more messages in foreign languages and posted on international websites.

Hunger Strikes
by Shifteh Ansari on Tue Jun 21, 2011 11:59 AM PDTI fully support the prisoners who are on strike. Nobody should think for one minute that anyone is messing about in the prisons of the Islamic Republic of Iran. These men truly have their lives at stake here, as seen in the Hoda Saber case, especially considering at least 2 of them are over the age of 60.
Hunger strikes are traumatic and could seriously and permanently damage an individual's life. I believe prisoners should only embark on a hunger strike when there is enough external attention on them, to get some serious international attention out of the protest. In that vein, I am happy to see people supporting the hunger strikers and taking a stand.
I wish more people would participate in the video campaign, to continue raising public awareness.
I believe we should stage hunger strikes and sit-ins and demonstrations, too. The problems seems to be that after a brief wave of support for the Green Movement, some Iranians in diaspora are back to their pre-June 2009 ideology and wish to distance themselves from the Green Movement, because they don't like the movement's leaders and the fact that a big chunk of this movement is comprised of reformists.
In my opinion, the days of the Islamic Republic of Iran are numbered. The people of Iran will take care of these thugs themselves when the time is right. Already, in just 2 short years, Iranians inside Iran have shaken the very foundations of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the point of no return. The Islamic Republic of Iran is damaged beyond repair. As members of the diaspora, our job is only to get their voices out of Iran and to stand behind them. People of Iran will take care of these fascists when they are ready. Iranians inside Iran will and should determine their own fate and elect their own system of government. They will liberate themselves.

All things must come to pass as one
So hope should never die
There is no height or bloody might
That a free man can't defy
There's no source or foreign force
Can break one man who knows
That his free will nothing can kill
And from that freedom grows

My message to Political Prisoners: EAT! STAY ALIVE and WELL!
by ComraidsConcubine on Tue Jun 21, 2011 10:22 AM PDTWe need good people alive and well. EAT, take the upmost care of yourselves.
And my message for those in support: YOU go on hunger strike in front of your local IRI Embassy. YOU can do this under medical supervision and without the risk of torture. YOU do it!
YOU in all these videos go on hungerstrike in protest and maybe more of us will join and put pressure on our governments demanding POLITICAL sanctions and to highlight the plight of Human Rights violations.
Thanks GS for Great video News
