This is Parvin Fahimi's moving and thoughtful message on the second anniversary of the protest movement that followed Ahmadinejad's disputed election. Fahimi's son Sohrab A'rabi became one of the symbols of the protests after his death in detention.

These acts against Irans old and young are Painful
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Mon Jun 13, 2011 01:36 PM PDTWe are dealing with a regime of thieves, who are the fruits of Islam, not the fruits of Irans culture. These people held no position in the Shahs Iran. Now we have seen them and heard them are we ready to fix our past mistakes?
If we are serious about fixing past mistakes the first thing we must do is look at which pieces of information we had in the past was wrong/fabricated/lies that caused us to make this huge national error.
How did we go from Freedom to Tyranny, from independence to poverty and mass unemployment, From Iranian Culture and Traditions to Islam?
What were the Lies?
Dictator, crook, megalomanic, despot, tyrant, tortures.
What was the Truth?
Freedom, Hope, Opportunity, Community, Independence, Development, Progress, Autocracy, Monarchy, Security.
