Good impression
by Sera on Fri Mar 18, 2011 10:15 PM PDTAlthough I believe Iran should not consider monarchy, as an alternative system, under any circumstances, still I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be a candidate for presidency like any other Iranian. He definitely has love of Iran in his heart. I was quite impressed with his intentions re joining Iran's air force to fight in Iran/Iraq war. Lets bear in mind that he was only a young man in his early 20s then and not a calculating politician. Happy NouRooz to everyone!
Nooruz Pirooz to Reza Pahlavi and all Iranians
by SOS-FREE-IRAN on Fri Mar 18, 2011 09:54 PM PDTI would be proud to have Reza Pahlavi lead the democracy-freedom movement in Iran. He is genuine. Both his father and his grandfather were patriots who loved iran and its people. He comes from a great line of leaders who have served and built Iran.
What a likeable person .. he is down to earth ... honest ... loves his country...a true democrat.
Thank God Reza Pahlavi is still with us.
Tehran e Azad I agree,
by Babak K. on Fri Mar 18, 2011 08:57 PM PDTTehran e Azad
I agree, our main goal right now is to bring democracy to Iran. However, can we be silent when somebody constantly talks about the "golden Imam Khomeini era" or "golden Pahlavi era"? I like to forget about the Pahlavi estebdad like a bad dream, but constantly our Slatanat-Talb friends are trying to insert Marhoom Reza Shah or Marhoom Mohammad Reza Shah up into our anus. You can see how much I am fond of Mostabedeen.

Good.
by comments on Fri Mar 18, 2011 08:14 PM PDTThis is a good presentation. I really liked it. But, Ahmaghinejad's presentation about Norooz and Bahrain was really good as well (yesterday's video on this website).
I am glad that somewhat-leaders have learned how to present themselves and atleast influence limited numbers of people to some extent. Until a few days ago they have been just making fun of themselves.

by tehran e Azad on Fri Mar 18, 2011 07:44 PM PDTWe all should unite to over throw IRI.
In a true free election who ever or what ever party( reza pahlavi, mojahedin, the communist party, Eslah talabs, melli garayan, gomhoori khah, etc) gets elected we all have to respect the out come, even if we dont like the out come.
Till then instead of bashing the IRI opposition save your effort and energy and concentrate it on IRI over throw.
Let a true free election after IRI over throw decide some ones legitimacy.

TO everybody 1. After
by Babak K. on Fri Mar 18, 2011 07:23 PM PDTTO everybody
1. After reading your comments I realize how easy it is to deceive the Iranian people, we are a good sample to realize my point.
2. Dictaors and their off-springs never admit a guilt, except that "too much love of the nation" was a problem. Mr Pahlavi is not an exception, and he will never admit the wrong doing of the pahalvi dynasty.
3. Our past and present are not seperable. Islamic dictatorship is the continuation of Pahlavi dictatorship as was the Bolshavic dictatorship the continuation of Zsar Estebdad in Ruassia. Any time you go to get help from a psycologist he will pay close attention to your past in particular your childhood, likewise to discuss Iran's present situation the last one hundered years and Pahlavi Estebdad become relevant and we can not ignore this.
3. Yes, some of you are correct that a monarch should live like a monarch, but we need transparency. When shah was asked about the amount of money he has, he said : "can these people count?", and when Hashemi-Rfsanjani was asked about his wealth he said: "if somebody can prove that we have all those moneies then we will give the money to him". Dictators, when they are in power they answer to nobody and when they are out power they are the saints and they just had the "love of the nation in heart".
4. You have to remember that Mr. Pahlavi has no legitimacy unless he shows true transparency and confronts the pahlavi Estebdad.

I have no doubt Iran will be free
by mahmoudg on Fri Mar 18, 2011 05:37 PM PDTThis regime will fall. Its leaders will be brought to justice in an International court of justice (Western Jurisprudence). We will be victorious. Our beloved Iran will be free, beit under the leadership of Reza Pahlavi, or another leader. But one thing is for sure. We will no longer put our eggs in the basket of one person anymore. Not Reza Pahlavi, not Rajavi, not god himself. We will put our eggs in the basket of "The People". by Jahanshah Javid on Fri Mar 18, 2011 05:09 PM PDTWhen someone like RP, a senior politician, throws the word "democracy" around left and right it's because he knows it will resonate with his audience. He knows that word will mean something to the viewers, he knows that's music to their ears. That's a very clear sign that democracy is THE political currency of the day.
Sitting pretty
by Jahanshah Javid on Fri Mar 18, 2011 04:57 PM PDTReza Pahlavi wants to enjoy being a monarch without the negative implications of actually calling himself a monarch. He would multiply his supporters if he officially renounced the monarchy for good and declared himself a potential presidential candidate. Fortunately for him, unfortunately for us, he does not need to renounce the monarchy. The Islamic Republic is so unpopular that many are not concerned about the possible return of the monarchy and would even welcome it.
I have to admit
by Reality-Bites on Fri Mar 18, 2011 04:16 PM PDTAlthough I'm no royalist/saltanat talab, and his father sure made his share of mistakes (as well as good things for the country), Reza Pahlavi came across and spoke a lot better than I expected.

Great Parazit!
by Azarin Sadegh on Fri Mar 18, 2011 04:06 PM PDTI love RP's relaxed attitude. He seems very comfortable in his skin and it makes him very appealing. I am sure he's made new fans among the youth in Iran. This interview and the other VOA interview complete each other and give a great picture of RP.
About the $62m...It might be lots of money for most of us, but compared to the rumored stolen 35 billion, it sounds like nothing. Any CEO of a big corporate would easily make more than 62 millions in a few years. Plus, compared to the corruption of the IRI crowd and the deterioration of the condition of the middle classes in Iran, it seems that during the Pahlavis the corruption had much less affected the average people.
Important day for Mr. Pahlavi
by seannewyork on Fri Mar 18, 2011 04:00 PM PDTI think this is a vrey big day for him as he is conneted with the youth of Iran. He makes a lot of sense and seems to be the best fit for a secular democractic iran with the youth want.
He needs to connect more with the youth and I think his cnances will only go up.
