Camila Batmanghelidjh is the founder and director of UK's Kids Company and has been a psychotherapist for more than twenty years. In her early twenties Camila founded her first charity: ‘‘The Place To Be’ which is now a national organisation reaching thousands of children. In her early thirties, Camila founded Kids Company in six converted railway arches in London. During the first few months, the team spent time integrating with the local young people, who tested their resilience and commitment with the challenging behaviour that had given them the label ‘hard to reach’>>>

Eccentric, Spooky, Bizarre, Beautiful
by bahmani on Fri May 27, 2011 09:29 AM PDTPart of the great crime that Iran has tried to perpetrate on us, is the stifling of the evolved Iranian.
Miss B, proves that while you can try, you can never stifle weird. And that weird is good. Weird questions the commonly held beliefs that have often been more of the problem, than the cure or solution.
Weird is also brave enough to weather criticisms and threats, and push through the dark into the light.
Miss B wonderfully illustrates that weird can conquer everything from a simple odd look on the sidewalk, to the most difficult challenges a person can face.
A question was raised as to what Miss B could have done if she had stayed in Iran, I think the answer is obvious.
Long live the weirdos, too bad we don't have more of them!
Woman of the year 2006
by Emrooz on Fri May 27, 2011 12:17 AM PDTShe is the realest of the real. She has done so much, given so much of herself to establish her charities to take care of the needs of these children. Among which, she has mortgaged her flat/apt and used the money for the kids and as a result almost became homeless herself....
She came from a very wealthy family and lead a childhood full of all kinds of privileges.
I wish her, her children, and children all over the wold the very best.
She is Truly ONE OF A KIND.
Can you imagine...What if she had been " able" to remain in Iran??

BEAUTIFUL
by amirkabear4u on Thu May 26, 2011 11:58 PM PDTI always liked her for what she does.
I really do not want to sound political but if pahlavis were like her, we did not have to put up with mollahs for over 30 years.
I also think the last part of this video, about british society, was so accurate.

by ComraidsConcubine on Thu May 26, 2011 08:23 AM PDTfor a beautifully done presentation of her!
She is quite a bit of a giant in many ways; larger than life vision so to speak, she works, works, works 24hrs a day full-swing, knows everyone in town and is deservedly very well-respected. Amazing woman.
