Israel will attack Iran's nuclear facilities if necessary to prevent it from developing a nuclear weapon, former Vice President Dick Cheney tells Newsmax.TV in an exclusive interview. "I think they would," Cheney said when asked about the possibility. "I think Iran represents an existential threat, and they'll do whatever they have to do to guarantee their survival and their security."

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Thu Sep 15, 2011 12:42 AM PDT"I think they would" is not the same as, "they will". That was a good observation israel won't do anything, the usa loves IRI because they are destroying iran and enabling the world to take oil for pennies on the dollar. As for Israel, it is essential to US policy, they use it to create fundamentalism and terrorists along with other policies in the region.
WRT North Africa, The Arab Spring was the west using the muslim brotherhood, which it funds to spread their influence into govt. These countries have huge oil reserves, egypt, tunisia, libya, syria and they need a bunch of vatan foroosh like we have in Iran and Iraq that are backwards to let in foreign oil companies in to do exploration and take the oil away for nothing. I wasn't happy with your analysis so I wanted to help you bring it in harmony with reality, as its not reported in the media. Soon they will all be exporting oil and cheap even the ones that were not before.
Islam & terrorism are the tools used by imperialists to make their world go around. They just love Islam & backwardness for oil rich countries.
Would Is Not The Same As Will
by RonPaul Iranian Fan on Thu Sep 15, 2011 12:26 AM PDT"I think they would" is not the same as, "they will". And, "I think ...they'll do whatever they have to do to guarantee their survival and their security", is as true about Israel as it is about Iran or any country for whom it is important to defend against an attack. Iran is now the least of Israel's problems as North Africa and the Middle East continue to churn over with one revolution after another and as Israel's own population takes to the streets in protest over their debilitated economy. Their lead benefactor, the United States is in the grips of a deepening economic crisis of it's own which is going to sooner or later put pressure on US aid. Israel is in retreat and weakening. It is vacating it's embassies or it's ambassadors are being expelled. They are experiencing a near total failure of their foreign policy, decades in the making. And in this perfect storm, should Dick Cheney say, "we stick by our only strategic ally left in the ME that we don't really like anyway, as she becomes America's only outpost in the region"? How many copies of his book would Dick Cheney sell then?
The most existential threat to Israel does not come from Iran, but from a shift toward more pragmatism in US foreign policy in the ME that is already occuring, by necessity. When this shift becomes more obvious, all the chickens would come home to roost at the same time. At that time, all the lobbies in the world are not going to be able to turn the tide. As irrational as it may seem, maybe it is the perfect time for Israel to take a chance on peace and commerce as means of formenting security right now.
How about taking these guys to court, in the usa, uk, france?
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Wed Sep 14, 2011 07:08 PM PDTAt some point, if we can get our country back.
Surely it isn't difficult to prove who's policies have spread islamic fundametalism and who's policies support tryants and who's corporations steal oil for pennies on the dollar? I say we take the militarists & Imperialists to court for $10 trillion in oil revenue loses since IRI came to power, $2 trilion for the Iraq war and another $40 trillion for emotional distress for 33 years.
Soosan know any good lawyers, just joking : ) Lawyers is fine, forget good.
Israeli pre-emptive attack
by Soosan Khanoom on Wed Sep 14, 2011 06:36 PM PDTBy the way, Cheney says that it is Israel that is going to attack because he knows and we all know that American public won't support another mideast war now; but if Isreal do so then one should never underestimate the irrationality of American congresspeople, especially when combined with money. When they see Israel in the middle of a battle against the so called "evil Iranians", there will arise from the throats of millions of lobbyists and Christian Zionists a wail of pure, ear-splitting terror and chicken-hawk fury. Subsequently, the United States will find itself once again in war. Having said that I am not sure how long more American people are going to put up with the state of Israel and its deceitful behavior towards their county.

You can not deny the nature of the beast by repeating same old slogans against IRI that frankly I don''t see anyone else defending! Iranians opposing Netanyahu, Cheney and MEK does not translate to supporting IRI!Why are you screaming so much?!
The other day you called me hypocrite for listing Israel atrocities in the world. That would make every citizen of Egypt, Turkey, Iran, Jordan, pakistan, every other country in Middle east and North Africa a hypocrite not to mention all those European and Americans and rest of the world that has singled out Israel as the most manacing entity in the world!
Check the news! There is a talk of a Tsunami against Israel. World has become tired of their "above the law" mentality and violation of international laws and borders.
World order is ebing redrawn and countries like of Brazil, China and India are not going to put up with "God chosen" mentality of Tel Avaive no more. It's a matter of time that US also becomes tired of paying the price for Israeli misadventures.
Now, tell me what you think of Israeli policies instead of going on another rant aganist phantom IRI supporters!

The likes of Cheney & Netanyahu
by Reality-Bites on Tue Sep 13, 2011 11:38 PM PDTare war mongering scumbags and don't give a rat's ass about the consequences of their aggression.
The problem is, from the beginning the Islamic Republic went out of its way - needlessly for Iran - to make enemies out of these people because the IR thrives on external threats to ensure long-term survival.
All it takes for IR to prevent possible attacks on Iran is for the "Rahbar" to declare publicly that Iran will never launch an attack on Israel, will only defend itself if attacked first and will open up all Iran's nuclear facilities for full and totally unhindered inspection by the IAEA. This would draw the sting out of any threat of attack.
But the IR won't do that because it WANTS the hostility and tension between Iran and Israel/US to continue. Put it this way, if there were no longer issues with Israel what else would IR and its supporters continually harp on about? Who would be their new enemy? What shoar would replace "mar bar Israel"?

Dear Jaleho: While Khomeini maybe a great leader in your view
by Bavafa on Tue Sep 13, 2011 06:50 PM PDTMany Iranians including myself believe he was a criminal with much of Iranians blood on his hand.
Case in point: The quote provided by you here which he often unwisely repeated is an example of his lack of care for his people, if Iranians were ever his people, by daring an obviously stronger adversary which certainly could and did bring Iranians much harm. As history is our witness, America could and did “eat shit” by directly and indirectly helping Saddam and his war against Iran.
Now going back to what I was saying earlier… statement such as the above quote will turn the attention to the criminal that is hated even more the Dick, your great leader Khomeini.
Now, should we be repeating the same unwise dare, this time to Israel?
Hope this made it a bit clearer.

"The Years of Shame"
The atrocity should have been a unifying event, but instead it became a wedge issue. Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons.

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Tue Sep 13, 2011 03:33 PM PDTwe have over 1000 innocents being killed by IRI a year and 75 million living in tyranny. So my rational is Iranians should be given the help they will need to remove IRI and that doesn't for me mean bombing. It means assistance. If IRI uses its basiji & their helicopter gun ships or fighter bombers on the people, I would support taking those out, as well as flattening all basiji bases that are no where near populated areas. Sorry thats the extent that I can condone and only on condition civilians start getting wiped out.
With a united people these guys will leave with little fight as most of their support base will change sides to not be part of a sinking ship. For the die hards yes we need to fight them, but we will have help from many within the regime if we are united.

by Simorgh5555 on Tue Sep 13, 2011 03:10 PM PDTYou will be hard pressed to find a single comment I made asking for a ground invasion of Iran. I have always qualified my statements in support of military action that the final overthrow of the IR needs to be carried out by Iranians through a mass movement or a national liberation army. As it stands any kind of resistance.on the ground requires the support of an airforce. Obama should have attacked Basij and the Revolutionary Guard bases in 2009 and last month during the Lake Orumiyeh protests.
True, no military actiion is without casualties but I.have come to the conlusion which many of us Iranians rarely acknowledge publicly or even admit to themselves but deep down no it is the truth: the IR will only be removed through physical force even if it means thousands of its supporters perish. And if you are dumb enough to be a Basiji then you have it coming. I can't wait until Lake Urumiyeh dries up, Pasargad and Marvdasht are flooded or the forests of Kurdistan are uprooted and the Zargos mountains are burried under towerblocks forever. If.it means killing Basij and unfirtunately risking the lives of some innocents then it is a bitter sacrifice worth making. I would rather that than have airanians executed by the hundreds every year and women and men raped inside prisons for taking part in a demonstration.
You probably ask that it is not my call to make this decision but then again it is not your brother or sister bewten to a pulp inprison for writing a blog.
As your remarks relating to me on a pereonal level, I live, eat and breathe Iran. Iran is my Zion and I look forward to reflaiming my land from the alien occupiers seated at the centre of power.
Susan, please think about what I'm saying and be rational about this as the scientist you are. Once you detwch yourself from the NIAC inspired garbage you will find there is no other way.
