my 2 cents
by Masoud Kazemzadeh on Sat Sep 24, 2011 12:46 PM PDTI love Parazit and seen most of them. Having several individuals chat was a good idea. However, it did not "click" on this subject and/or with the guests. All guests are top in their fields, but on this issue it did not work. The chemistry was not there.
JJ looked very good and spoke well. There were also occasional good comments by others.
I think they should try this format again. When such format works, it would be fireworks. I think this format would work great with Iraj Pezeshkzad, Hadi Khorsandi, Ramin Kamran and our own Faramarz, Divaneh, and Shazde Assadola Mirza.
Nikahang is my favorite cartoonist. I also like many of Neyestani’s works. I usually do not enjoy Nabavi’s humor (or don’t get them). None of them was "hazer javab."
To be the top cartoonist, does not make one a good stand up comedian or satirist. Or to be a top standup comedian does not make one a cartoonist. These are different media and require different skill sets.
I disagree with Mash Ghasem: The guests are the best in their own fields. I do agree with MG that Hadi Khorsandi is a great satirist and would be great for this format. I also agree with MG on Ramin Kamran. In addition to being a great thinker, Ramin Kamran also has a superb sense of humor in his satirical writings.
Pakdaman is a good historian but he does NOT have a sense of humor. I have seen him give talks on two occasions. He utterly killed an enthusiastic audience with his terribly boring style of delivering his speech. I also saw Homa Nategh give a talk; in that talk she did not show any sense of humor. She is a great historian, but that does not necessarily make her a good candidate for this format at Parazit.
My 2 cents,
Masoud

by onlyinamrica on Sat Sep 24, 2011 12:37 PM PDTI think JJ saved the show. Abadanis speak Farsi but with their own unique accent.

Abadanis should correct me but
by Anahid Hojjati on Sat Sep 24, 2011 10:48 AM PDTas far as jj not having an abadani accent, i don' t believe that there is one. for arab residents, that is a different story but others don't have accent. i think abadanis during my childhood talked a formal farsi. i admit that people who lived longer in abadan might know more and not agree with me.
Nice to hear Jahanshah's analysis. It was to the point.
by bache_abadani on Sat Sep 24, 2011 10:38 AM PDTI enjoyed the show as always. people of Iran love this program. I ve heard Jahanshah is from Abadan. Obviously I din t hear his accent. But , he may be like me only shows accent when talking to people from his hometown:)
Parazit
by Soosan Khanoom on Sat Sep 24, 2011 08:54 AM PDTThis time it was more of "the real time with Bill Maher " style of debating the issues ...
and JJ comments were very professional ...
good job ...
: )
It was fine
by azadi5 on Sat Sep 24, 2011 08:45 AM PDTI liked the panel on parazit. it suits the type of government that Iran has, which is laughable.
Also, since kambiz named this site on the show, we should see a flood of haters on this site for a while who will come here to defend AN and the rest of kahoonds.
As for JJ, he did good.
comments "I am shocked about other three"
by Tiger Lily on Sat Sep 24, 2011 07:38 AM PDTToo true, I was very shocked last night and went over the top in my comment. The shocking part to me was how terribly out of touch those people are with the people inside Iran. Saddest thing.
Karim K is correct. Have a look on their FB page. People inside Iran hated it.
My opinion.
by comments on Sat Sep 24, 2011 07:32 AM PDTIn my opinion Jahanshah shined in the crowd. He was not supposed to have a sense of humour like others, which was a smart act.
I am glad that Jahanshah acted a bit nervous. As a rule of thumb if one behaves too relaxed it means that he lies and he doesn’t believe on what he says.
However, I am shocked about other three. Are they supposed to be Iranian stand-up comics? They didn’t reflect their political point of view well either. Their sense of humour was not attractive to me.
I am always interested in Bavafa’s comments, but I didn’t get it this time. Perhaps, he knows more about each individual.
Good job khaneh bakhtiari!!!!
by pedramx on Sat Sep 24, 2011 07:35 AM PDTJJ jan you did really good on the show... I wish you had a one & one interview with Kambiz rather than participating group in discussion.

Noush!...
by Piyalechi on Fri Sep 23, 2011 10:58 PM PDTI enjoyed it very much. Kambiz kept it real and funny, like always...
JJ, I wish you had remembered that "nothing is sacred!" Maybe then you would have relaxed a bit. Hell you were making me nervous!...
On the other hand, I apreciate the effort you put to keep your answers on the level and squared away...
For future reference, "Zadan" goes with "Tohmat," and "Daadan" goes with "Fohsh!"
;o)
Noush...
P.S. Where was Saman in the middle of all that?...

by Jahanshah Javid on Fri Sep 23, 2011 10:53 PM PDTThank you all for your thoughtful and sincere comments. Greatly appreciated.
Rammaly? Yani chi, please?
by VATANAM on Fri Sep 23, 2011 08:07 PM PDTJJ performed well. However, he looked uncomfortable and perhaps intimidated. May be because he was the least experienced and the most to gain or lose in terms of his business in IC. After all his appearance would give recognition to IC. He was articulate, and more fit than his photos in the past.
AN is not talking to the iranians, he is talking to the third world countries, and in particular the moselms. He was talking to Mehdi and asking him to help him in his delivery. Talk is cheap! In the last 2 years he has lost a lot of his popularity in and outside of Iran due to the Green crack down.
JJ the bright spot of this misery
by Karim M. on Fri Sep 23, 2011 06:35 PM PDTIt was the worst Parazit ever. Absolutely horrible. JJ was the best of the bunch because he appeared honest and articulate and the said the most interesting things. Everybody else looked dumb and Kambiz seemed unprepared and out of his depths. You should read what Iranians from inside Iran are writing on Parzit's wall on Facebook right now. Everybody is disappointed.

Kambiz did a superb
by vildemose on Fri Sep 23, 2011 05:46 PM PDTKambiz did a superb job. Guests also did a fantastic job. Hope we see more roundtables like this one.
p.s. Nikahang was a bit too gossipy and girlish...
Reform requires the consent of the corrupt
this was my first parazit to watch
by Anahid Hojjati on Fri Sep 23, 2011 04:57 PM PDTShow started bad but improved considerably. Overall definitely not bad discussion, maybe even good. From the guests, only Jahanshah and Nabavi performed well.
I had seen Nikahang in another setting; some gathering in support of Iranian journalists couple years ago and he seemed to be a charming person but on this show, he did not do well.
Neyestani had not even bothered to watch Ahmmadi' s speech and I think by emphasizing that he had not watched the speech, he was driving the point that not many people watch Ahmadi and then he talked about TV in Iran. Overall not bad or maybe good show but then this was my first so I am not able to compare it with their other shows.
Poor Kambiz!
by Faramarz on Fri Sep 23, 2011 04:42 PM PDTThis was not the easiest panel for Kambiz to manage, but he did his best to keep the pace.
It was a mix of both funny and serious material and guests. It worked well at times and stalled at other times. I think that the chemistry was the biggest challenge. Kambiz’ pace was so much faster than his guests who needed to ponder about every topic before saying something funny.
He had JJ who is a good and thoughtful guest in serious discussions blended with Nikahang who is a talented cartoonist with a great sense of humor that he masterfully translates into his drawings, but his humor does not necessarily jump out of his mouth on a moment’s notice.
Mr. Nabavi and Tooka are both funny guys, but they were remote and seemed disconnected with the flow and the chemistry of the discussions. Overall, a good show with many smart and funny comments.
if we sit down for a second
by tabriz_balasi on Fri Sep 23, 2011 04:42 PM PDTif we sit down for a second by ourselves and clear our minds and then try to be very very very honest with ourselves, we might see that we don't understand anything in a deep sense. we just pretend to know things and many of the positions we take on various issues are rooted in our personal unresolved issues and mixed emotions. one thing that is clear to me now is that the world has entered a new phase and we live in a transient state. many things will change in the upcoming two decade. America as a world power has lost its credibility (mainly because if unjust wars and economic mismanagement) even they themselves admit it; now some of us iranians try to still insist that America is the last hope for humanity. I don't consider myself as anti this and pro that because i am very ignoranet/uneducated and have low IQ. the best I can do easily is to prove to myself that everyone is lying to me (politicians). so what to do? everyone has to answer that question to themselves. if we clear our minds, the answer will appear. eat less food, don't get angry, don't judge fast, and don't hate anyone. i have found these things to prevent me from getting fooled by myslef time and time again. if anyone is screaming for freedom, let them ask themselves this question, are they really free from their ignorance and empty desires? if not, then how can they be free any ways? things like freedom, widson, and justance hast to first appear in our personality before demanding it from KHamenie/Ahamadinejad/Obama or who ever else.

Two thumbs down...
by پندارنیک on Fri Sep 23, 2011 04:25 PM PDTGood to see the IC man as a misfit in the miserable company of those who failed to deliver.
Parazit, in my opinion, owes JJ big.
JJ: Well, I am one of those audiences...
by Bavafa on Fri Sep 23, 2011 04:10 PM PDTunless Parzit is going to start taking the audience for granted...
I was actually excited to see you as part of interviewee, and wouldn't hold you to the poor performace and potential of the program since you had no control over that.
But as often you have said it here too....these childish game will hardly advance our cause as a nation or people.

Enjoy the gossip at the expense of other people and make a buck out of it.
PUKE!!!! One of the most depressingly revoltingly sessions I have evver witnessed on Parasit of its name becoming so true.
P.S. It is true that JJ comes out looking better than the rest, but somehow that isn't much of a compliment. So sad.
